This audiobook was addictive for sure! Even so, the mini-me caught the last couple of hours and wanted to know what was going to happen!

I loved the growth of Kitty in the story. The story was quite dark in places and I wanted to jump in and give Ethan a slap or two. But with all the shocks that happened, I felt there could have been a bit more. There was a huge shock and it was quite literally life-changing but I felt that it wasn’t given enough time to work through. It was an odd twist too and then I felt it was brushed over a bit too quickly. I would have wanted to spend a bit more time focused on it and to see Kitty work it through a bit more, as I say it was a bombshell!

Kitty was abused by two too many people and when we meet her, she is running from her wedding day, and we have no idea why. And the manipulation that went with it was uncomfortable to watch. I did gasp a few times and Kitty had chains to break. But was she replacing one cage for another when she met Jack?

Jack is broken and running away from his own loss. He has his demons to face, so when Kitty and he meet, two souls explode as they try to navigate through life.

It was such a sweet and touching story. I loved watching their love grow. It was like chicken soup for your soul. I do have to admit though, that I had to pause it at one point as Kitty discusses losing her dad, and how she’s worried she will forget things about him. I had to admit that got me. I feel the same way. Some years on, and I can just about hear my dad's voice in my head but it's fading. And although I will never forget him, her fear, her worry of forgetting her dad, it’s mine. Every day and that got me. It made me think.

I did adore this story. I am glad I met Kitty and Jack and I am glad I found a book to watch two people grow.

I love a strong-willed, powerful and inspiring heroine, and Baker writes Kitty as a person who is brave and not afraid to stand up for herself. If only there were more people like Jack who are selfless and picks up anything that needs rescuing, usually of the four-legged kind. The story kept on getting better as the pages kept on turning, and Kitty and Jack's love story was passionate and heartwarming, unlike Sebastian and Angel's in Bakers' previous novel The Honey Trap which was more about lust and read as slightly sappy.

The story drew me in from the beginning: why is Kitty running from her wedding? Where will she go without anything but the wedding dress she's wearing? Can Jack be trusted or does he have an ulterior motive? What will her family think back at home?

Wow oh wow!
This is a wonderful and fantastic book! I honestly think that this is my favourite by Mary-Jayne. This is definitely going to take some beating- it is a truly wonderful story.
I absolutely loved Kitty and Jack from the very beginning, but I couldn’t predict how the story was going to go. I wasn’t disappointed by the twists that took place. I strongly dislike Ethan, what an absolute douchebag! He is definitely the guy we’ve all been infatuated with at some point in life- I only wish Kitty had kicked him where it would hurt.
This book has made me laugh out loud on numerous occasions, but I’ve also felt a bit emotional on times. I’ve definitely been on a rollercoaster with Jack and Kitty. I need a follow up!! It cannot end where it has- that would be super unfair!
I can honestly say that I’ve adored this book, it has been an amazing read. I can honestly say that five stars doesn’t do this book the justice.

It’s such a shame because I really liked the first book of hers that I read but I’m beginning to think it was a fluke. This book deals with a heroine who was abused by two people in her life, and then instead of the book investing some time in her finding herself, she finds another person to structure her life around. In addition, while the book directly addresses that the hero, whose dealing with grief needs to see a professional, no such recommendations who in my opinion needed it more than the hero. The book attempts to handle the topic of abuse but unfortunately I believe it horribly fumbles the bag when it comes to the execution of that ideas
