And They Were Roommates is a fun book filled with all of the romance tropes one could ask for.
Charlie is an aggressively relatable character. His fears, anxieties, and wants are all that of a teenage trans guy, and I thought that all of them were expressed well.
The plot lines in this book are a bit boring. I will say that this a romance first book, which made it slightly hard for me to enjoy as much. While marketed as enemies to lovers, it feels as though it was hard to see them ever actually being friends through the novel especially since Charlie has such a hate for Jasper.
Overall a fun time, just not my fun time.

Oh my GOD, they were ROOMMATES! Charlie hasn't seen Jasper, his ex and first kiss, since before he transitioned. Having him as a roommate at Valentine's All Boys School would be devastating... the thing is... Jasper doesn't recognize him... and he doesn't seem be the playboy he used to be. I fell in love with Charlie and Jasper immediately, both characters were loveable and unique in the way that they interacted with the world and each other. AND THEY WERE ROOMMATES is a wonderful queer YA romance novel with swoony romance, adorable characters, and wonderful banter!
