This is basically a Cliff Notes version of his book Money: Master the Game and therefore more accessible for average people like me who only have a 401K and house. Using the Fee Checker website he recommended for seeing what the fees are for your 401K gave me peace of mind. He recommends index funds. He doesn't say what percentage you should have invested in index funds and bonds and other investments but I came away feeling like I was on the right track.

I will admit that I was never a big Tony Robbins fan. I found him far too raw and unpolished on his Netflix special and was put off by how unapologetic he was of using profanity to get attention.

But you can't deny his success.

There is so much wisdom in this book. Every 20 something should read this today and learn about how to set up your finances for long term success. There's something for everyone no matter what their stage in life may be. I especially enjoyed Ray Dalio's contributions to the book.

But most of all, if you don't have the patience for a financial book, listen/read to chapter 9 about being in a beautiful state. It is life changing.

I spent about 1.5 hours with this book, and that’s about all you need to takeaway a number of helpful points. It’s nothing new. Robbins reaffirms several best practices of investing. But his generous tone and straightforward style make for a good read.

Tony Robbins has a magnificent way of using so many words to say so little. Much of the book was spent on "saying what he's about to say, just wait, it's going to be so great and life-changing".

Some months ago, I happened to watch a couple of minutes of one of his events on Netflix. Typically these are hour-long affairs which people pay thousands of dollars to attend, in order to hear their charismatic and sprightly cult leader change their lives. In this context, Robbins is the master of getting people hooked on his every word and introducing what he's going to say as well as recapitulating what he has said. In a book format, this style can be largely frustrating. It must be said, however, that he does have an excellent way of breaking down concepts so that anyone would be able to understand, and that the basic tenets he outlines are extremely useful. It's just a shame that the reader has to make it through a lot of waffle to find these "nuggets".

A book on investing and investor Psychology that focuses on index investing and buy and hold strategies. Good advice, although you’ve likely read it all before if you’ve read a few personal finance books. Robbins really stresses the importance of getting out of mutual funds and avoiding high fee investments. He also wrote about the importance of holding strong and not selling during bear markets (after winter always come spring!)

Chapter 9 on “Real Wealth” separated this book from other personal finance books. In this section Robbins went beyond money and wrote about finding what truly makes each of us happy and fulfilled.

Overall I liked the book.
