Fantastic read, ending had me gagged a little. Definitely some jaw dropping points throughout the book. Would recommend!

So many mediocre reviews on this one surprises me. I absolutely loved it! I found it very easy to keep track of the many characters, particularly with the list at the front. The key for me was that the characters were distinct enough and didn't have similar names (a flaw in so many fantasy books with many characters), that I didn't find it problematic at all.

I flew through this book. I was intrigued the whole time, and it was a very easy read.

My one almost negative comment is that I didn't really see the point of the very last chapter.

If you are a Peter Swanson fan, don't skip this one in spite of some of the other reviews!

Meh - it was ok. I mean I read it reeeeaaallllyyy fast and it was easy and enjoyable enough.

I figured out most of the story since the references to “And then there were none” were so strong. At least in ATTWN the killer had a reason that was easier for me to understand. Nine Lives was basically “I’m a rich man who has lived my life so I should ruin others because I can.”

Also I have a close family member who has Glioblastoma and my loved experience and most research doesn’t the idea that this person could do all the things they did with that diagnoses.

That being said it’s a quick easy read and worth it if you are a mystery fan who particularly likes Peter’s work.

I loved this book and especially the twist at the end which I was not expecting but it did make me smile. This is a really good murder mystery about nine people with no obvious connection apart from a list of names they get in the post which they are on. As the FBI get involved those named on the list start to be murdered and it’s a race against time to find out who it is and put a stop to it. This would be a great film.

Rounded up to 4, but I’d say it’s a solid 3.5. It’s a good book, but also not my favorite by Swanson. It kept me thinking and had me convinced of a couple different possibilities for who is behind the killings. Quick read.

the leading up to the reveal wasn’t super gripping for me but the ending explanation made up for it. very much “i know what you did last summer” meets “murder on the orient express”
