I really had no idea where this book was going for the longest time but the ending leaves you a little like “huh, okay”. It’s complex but learning about these characters and ultimately knowing they all die in the end it’s bitter sweet #ethanandcaroline. Overall it was a nice read

This book has a lot of characters, which is usually a major problem for me. The good news is the characters don't all really matter that much, and Peter does a great job of a hint of who's who when he starts the chapter so it's not super critical to keep everyone straight.
It is a fast-paced who-done-it and it kept me guessing until the end. It's a fairly quick read and I recommend giving it a try!

How does Peter Swanson do it? Every book, every story, so smoothly plotted, you just drink it in like hot chocolate at the perfect temperature! I’m going to say Nine Lives is his best (but let’s not forget the symphony of 8 Perfect Murders), as the characters become your people, so nicely constructed, ordinary but interesting. Pacing — perfect; no extraneous setting descriptions or unnecessary past details…just a superbly planned murder mystery. Read it, love it!
