This author writes intense thrillers. This was no exception. Interesting concept.

With her first book I had made up my mind not to read due to my flying so frequently, however the plot of this was so intriguing I could not resist. It did not disappoint, it was totally fabulous and I will be going back to read the previous ones.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!
This is my second T.J. Newman novel, (I've already read Falling), and I've had a fun time with both books. This is a perfect beach or plane book (haha) that feels like a Roland Emmerich disaster movie. That comparison is especially apt in this book where a small town has to come together to deal with a plane that has struck a nuclear plant. If they don't work together they won't be able to stop a nuclear disaster. There are some things that are so unrealistic or aren't perfectly explained but I'd argue that's not the purpose of this book. The stakes are so high and how people act is sometimes cartoonishly one dimensional, but it's still a really fun time.
Maybe don't read this on a plane? Or do, that's totally your choice if you want to freak yourself out.

T.J. Newman once again proves sheโs the queen of high-stakes thrillers with ๐ช๐ข๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ง ๐๐๐ฆ๐ ๐ฆ๐๐๐ก๐๐ฅ๐๐ข, a pulse-pounding, edge-of-your-seat novel that reads like a blockbuster film. When a pilot suffers a fatal heart attack mid-flight, his commercial airliner crashes into a nuclear power plant, triggering an unprecedented Level 8 disasterโthe first in history. What follows is a gripping, time-sensitive race to contain the catastrophe before it spirals into a global crisis. Newman masterfully weaves multiple perspectives, from first responders to government officials, showing the desperation, courage, and sacrifice of those fighting to prevent total devastation. The tension builds relentlessly, with every chapter ratcheting up the stakes. This is a story about resilience, heroism, and the impossible choices made in the face of disaster. Prepare for an emotional rollercoasterโyouโll be holding your breath until the very last page!
