No, no, no. This was absolutely terrible. No redemption for Phillip. I’m sorry, I need to marry her because I’m a terrible father, and yes he’s a terrible father because he legit ACKNOWLEDGES avoiding them??
Also like… the whole sexual side of this book is absolutely fucked. He talks about how he can’t bear to think to “force himself” on his late wife Marina - and then is like Eloise we suit because I made you cum??? I’m like obviously she enjoyed being touched down there she admits to never touching herself before ?? Not like a huge surprise she’s like oh wait this is nice?
This entire book was a contradiction none of it made sense. The whole thing is just absolutely lame and I would skip this book on the series. Absolutely tragic for Eloise someone who was so sure of herself and holding out for something actually worthwhile. Tragic.

Here are three things I loved:
1. Eloise's Strong Personality: Eloise Bridgerton stands out as a character with a vibrant and independent spirit. Her determination to seek out her own happiness and challenge societal norms makes her relatable and inspiring. I appreciated her witty humor, resilience, and refusal to conform to traditional expectations, which adds depth to her character and drives the story forward.
2. The Letters: The back-and-forth letter writing between Eloise and Sir Phillip adds an intimate and engaging layer to their relationship. This epistolary element allows readers to see their thoughts, feelings, and vulnerabilities in a unique way. It enhances the emotional connection and builds tension as they navigate their evolving relationship, creating a delightful blend of romance and personal growth.
3. Themes of Love and Acceptance: The novel explores themes of love, acceptance, and the complexities of relationships. As Eloise and Sir Phillip navigate their initial misunderstandings and emotional baggage, their journey toward mutual understanding and respect highlights the importance of communication and compromise in love. This exploration resonates with readers and adds depth to the romantic storyline.
To Sir Phillip, With Love is a charming and heartwarming addition to the Bridgerton series that beautifully captures the complexities of love and self-discovery. With Eloise Bridgerton's strong-willed personality and the delightful correspondence between her and Sir Phillip, readers are treated to a witty and poignant exploration of romance and the courage to follow one’s heart. Julia Quinn's masterful storytelling and engaging characters make this novel not just a romantic escapade but also a thoughtful reflection on societal expectations and personal fulfillment. If you're looking for a book that combines humor, emotion, and unforgettable moments, To Sir Phillip, With Love is a must-read!

I enjoyed almost every one of the books in the bridgerton series but this one was by far my favorite. Elouise is straightforward and also willing to attempt to make for herself the life she hoped for. I also enjoed the children in this book. Sir Phillip himself was a wonderful engaging charachter. This wook was great and deserves to be read and shared.

So--I read Bridgerton #4 and at the end, there were two chapters of Bridgerton #5. And then, after two chapters, I wanted more, so I bought the book. And finished it this morning.
This seems to be everyone's least favorite book, but I liked it best. Getting away from the balls, the musicales, the matchmaking seasons-- that was nice. I also liked Phillip, a guy whose life has not been exclusively about balls, musicales, etc., and managing his fortune.
Let's say it was a better than pretty good romance. Four stars-ish.

oOPs I did it again.

Did I read this book in one day? Yes. Did I like it? Eh. It might’ve gotten a higher rating had I not read the other Bridgerton books right before it. Plainly speaking, it just wasn’t as good. I couldn’t help but feel that Eloise was wasted as a character, and I’m growing tired of the male leads being so freaking stubborn. In the case of the Bridgerton brothers you can look past it for their more admirable qualities, but with Sir Phillip it was just annoying. It gets two stars because of the love scenes and the interactions with the other Bridgertons.

This was the worst Bridgerton book so far which makes me sad bc I love Eloise. If this is supposed to be a love story, they did a really poor job convincing anyone they were in love. The bar is on the floor and Phillip is essentially saying “you aren’t depressed and hopeless, which is more than I could have ever dreamed of” which is a poor premise for both a book and a relationship

As much as I love the Bridgerton series... this is getting a 3.5 ✨ / 5.
This was probably my least favorite of the Bridgerton love stories so far. I can't say I loved the relationship between Phillip and Eloise. They definitely had their moments of being cute and charming and I did enjoy the ending :)
But I feel like we didn't really see any resolution with how they were going to move forward with the marriage since they both had such different ideas of it. It just didn't feel complete without having all of their issues worked out. And it seemed the majority of the book was about their issues... Excited for the next one though!
