A delightful read. 

I found the writing really beautiful. I thought that the balance between the sweet romance and the brutal war was wonderfully done. In fact the writing style and flow was one of the highlights for me. 

I found the background to magic and the whole gods story made for a really interesting world. So though the story of journalism and war is a familiar one, the magic gave it an interesting twist. 

I loved the magic typewriters. Such a cute idea and I loved the beautiful letters written between Iris and Roman. The history behind it. Iris and Roman’s relationship is delightful and I love how the typewriters gave them this link. 

The ending gave me all thrills and I’m looking forward to reading the sequel soon.
