This was such a lovely book. I’m annoyed at myself for taking so long to pick it up but glad I finally did.

Divine Rivals balanced the simplicity of romance against the start backdrop of war. I loved the way it focused on characters that were left behind because usually with books in any war time you’re more likely to experience the front line. But with this book we got to see a different side to things.

I’m obsessed with the typewriter idea, it was so magical and sweet! Who doesn’t want a magical typewriter connected to your pen pal? This whole books tone was perfect for me. The journalism, the work rivalry, war correspondent - everything was just beautiful.

Roman is so head over heels for Ivy and I’m here for every second of it. Ivy is focused on everything but him and he’s just patiently biding his time. Their whole dynamic really made this book the wholesome romance I was hoping for.

The end of the book took a very drastic turn and I’m super excited to delve into book 2, wish me luck!
