What can I say? I like the Sookie Stackhouse novels and there isn't one instance where the series has steered me wrong. To me they aren't mind blowing literature or anything, but they serve their purpose of entertainment and a need to know curiosity well. With each book there seems to be a whole new onset of characters as well as realities. I wonder how far Charlaine Harris is going to go with introducing different groups of supernatural beings. All and all, liked the book a lot and am curious as to what the next installment will bring. I am also shocked that I have pretty much caught up with the writer and will (after the next book) have to impatiently wait for the release of more books. Keep it up Charlaine! :)

A good, solid Sookie novel. While the book had enough action to keep me interested, I felt like it was a bit of a wrap up. It seemed as if Sookie #7 was the season finale of a series and that Sookie #8 was the beginning of the new season. Lots of little plots were wrapped up and a couple of new large plots were introduced. I am looking forward to the next installment.

I loved this book. I want to give it 4.5 stars. It didn't rock my world as there was decidedly much less epic action going on in this book. Sure, we've got new relatives, hostile vampire take overs and a Were war but it didn't compare to All Together Dead.

I loved that this was back in Bon Temps and Sookie was pretty much just going about her life. Quinn returns and Sookie asserts herself. I found myself nodding along with her. I would have said the same.
I loved Eric a little more. I don't know how much more I can love this vamp but I discover each book I can a little more.

Octavia Fant and Amelia are wearing a bit thin for me. I'm not exactly sure why they're required and honestly, they're annoying.

What I Did Like:
+Eric. The bright spot in this book is definitely Eric who continues to be completely himself in a series full of characters who seem to change loyalties.
+That ending. Just when you thought the series might be going on past its own life, that ending gives it a second chance.

Who Should Read This One:
-Fans of the series will read this, as I did, because it comes next. Then we’ll read the next one because of this ending. Then, ultimately, we’ll forget this one ever happened.

My Rating: 2 Stars
Look, I’ll keep reading the series but a throwaway book this late in the series is problematic.

Poor Sookie always gets stuck in the middle of things. As always, a good read but not as interesting as the last few books. I felt as though not much happened but actually there was A LOT happening... go figure?! Anyway I look forward to reading Sookie's next adventure...
