Jane Austen is one of my favorite authors. And while I also enjoy reading contemporary romance, Jane Austen tops them all. One of the things I love most about her works is that the romantic element in her books is not based off of appearances or physical attraction.
I loved Pride and Prejudice and Emma, and now I can add Persuasion to the list. I don't understand why Persuasion is not as well-known as Emma. I found Anne relatable, and I love her for respecting her family members even though they misuse her. The characters in this book are all lovable (except those who you're not supposed to love, I suppose), the plot was interesting and, I feel, faster than Emma, and the dialogue was witty as always. It will be one of my favorite books from now on.
