Planning to audition for this in a couple weeks, so I figured it was time to read it. Not my favorite Shakespeare but I do like Goneril and Regan....

King Lear dramatizes the story of an aged king of ancient Britain, whose plan to divide his kingdom among his three daughters ends tragically. When he tests each by asking how much she loves him, the older daughters, Goneril and Regan, flatter him. The youngest, Cordelia, does not, and Lear disowns and banishes her. She marries the king of France. Goneril and Regan turn on Lear, leaving him to wander madly in a furious storm.

tbh, i didn't really read it, i just listened to people read it in class. boring, i literally only engaged with a few pages and an online summary and somehow understand the play. why is it so long?

that Fool is so compelling. i want a spinoff about him secretly being the mastermind behind everything
I didn’t really like this one, but that’s probably because I was low on sleep and didn’t easily retain or follow the story. I had to read an Act by Act summary as I went. It’s certainly an interesting story with a lot going on.
