I don't know how to rate this. On the one hand I immensely enjoyed the tortoise content and the quirky storyline, on the other hand the book teaches a very questionable message (it's ok to lie and cheat, you'll not only get away with it, you'll also be rewarded for it) and I'm heart-broken about the non-existent bond between Alfie and Mrs Silver. To sum up: high enjoyment factor, doubtful morals.

I love tortoises, too, but this was bizarre.

Such a cute book!

It's cute, but kind of sends the wrong message about marriage and tortoise ownership. If you don't take it seriously, it is a very cute story.
