Hey guys, so I finished the anthology Fifty First Times. It was a collection of love stories, A bunch of...first times. And because it took me so long to read this, I figured out that I don't really like reading collections of individual short stories. It just wasn't what I thought. I either got too emotionally invested in one story that felt way to short that could have been a damn book. Or I was completely uninvested in a short story and just didn't care for it at all. There was like nearly no middle ground. Thus....why I don't think Iwill be reading many other anthologies. I just didn't really groove with all the individual stories being shoved together. It felt very disorganized and I don't know. I don't think I gelled with this. The stories were pretty good and all, it just wasn't the right style for me. Maybe another anthology at another time will be, but I dunno.

I started this book to read a sequel from one of Armentrout (as J. Lynn) book series, which was really good (or maybe i'm just a sucker for all that Armentrout writes) And even when there was some nice stories, all of them were too short and too forced for my liking. So, I guess i just don't like short stories. And some other stories were really lame. I only skipped 2 or 3 stories, but i was seriously wishing to get over the book already. I didn't stop reading it, 'cause the few times i haven't finish a book it was because i got busy with work or other undelayable things, but never as a choice, i just don't let books around lay unfinished... Well i got this as an ebook so it wouldn't have been laying around, lol.
Annyway, overall i didn't like it. But i loved Believe in me which is J. Lynn (Jennifer L Armentrout) storie.

I really wanted to read Crash by Sophie Jordan, and I ended up just reading the entire thing. I've never really read an anthology before, and I found I really liked it! I love romance stories, but they sometimes take an unnecessary long time, and with these short stories it's just very fast paced (which makes sense, because... short stories). The topic "first times" didn't appeal to me that much, but I soon found that each author interpreted "first times" differently. I think this book helped me found some new authors I think I'll enjoy. I guess I'll go find a new anthology to read. Any recommendations?

My favourites were:
- Crash by Sophie Jordan: Hunter and Brooke's story from the Foreplay series.
- Once Bitten by Cole Gibsen: a woman has to join her ex to go find a missing girl.
- Believe in Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Ollie and Britt's story from the Wait for You series.
- Love in an Elevator: two people hit it off in a broken elevator. Also, why doesn't Carry Ryan write more contemporary? This was excellent!

Really well done anthology of new adult stories. The majority of the stories hooked me right in and made me want more story from the characters. Some of my favorites stories were:

Daylight by Julie Cross was so beautifully written. I loved Jack and Audrey's story. I would LOVE a full length novel about them. Jack's back story is so mysterious and interesting. Audrey's love for Jack is so heartwarming. And her faith and trust in him is so deep. Totally loved this story.

A Little Too Scarred by Lisa Desrochers was another story where the characters hooked me from chapter one. What a beautiful story about rediscovery, steadfastness, and the true meaning of beauty.

How to Be a Heart Breaker by Lauren Lanye was adorably funny. Garrett and Annie's conversations are so sarcastic and tongue-in-cheek. When they finally tell each other how they feel I yelled out and cheesed so hard. This is definitely a "feel good" story.

Two in the Morning by Roni Loren surprised me! I didn't think Bates would have the happy ending he wanted to have. I was thrilled with the way this story played out.

Believe in Me by J. Lynn = <3. So much cheesing.

Sharing Firsts by Molly McAdams had me crying so many sad and happy tears. What an emotional story!

Love in an Elevator by Carrie Ryan had me wishing I was stuck in an elevator with Russell myself! :)

With the Lights On by Alessandra Thomas was another beautifully written story about the power of love.

5 Stars for Believe In Me by J. Lynn. I loved reading about Ollie and Brittany. Of course it helped that Cam and Avery were mentioned. My obsession with wanting a tortoise has been re-ignited.

My other favorites were:
The Corner of First and Second by Gennifer Albin; Daylight by Julie Cross (I need more of this one...what is he? Where did he go?); A Little Too Scarred by Lisa Desrochers, I really nloved this one;Crash by Sophie Jordan; How to be a Heartbreaker by Lauren Layne (I want more of this one too because I wanna be bad);Strike Out by Myra McEntire;Love in an Elevator by Carrie Ryan; Bunga Bunga by Andrew Shaffer; With the Lights On by Alessandra Thomas and finally Field Emotions by Melissa West.

So basically I enjoyed the whole book. haha.

I honestly only bought this book to read Believe In Me by J. Lynn. But, I was surprised by how many of these stories I loved. Especially the one with the elevator, which I totally just blanked on the title. This is a great, fluffy read full of enjoyable stories for everyone.

4.5/5 stars

I did NOT finish this book. I read the first two stories completely, but didn't liked them... If I would have to rate them, I'd give them both less than 3 stars...

The reason why I started this book though, is because of the story 'Believe In Me' by J. Lynn.
I read this one completely and LOVED it!!
I wrote a mini review about Believe Me:

I may read the other ones in the future, but not right now.I recently found out about this short story. It's been published in Fifty First Times: A New Adult Anthology.
I've always been curious about Ollie's background story. I liked him a lot in Wait For You. He's super funny and ugh. I just love him.

I started reading and immediately squealed BECAUSE IT IS IN OLLIE'S POV!! Argh, it was so good!
He's the most sweetest guy ever! And seriously, this book is waaaaaaaay too short!! I want a full book about him, like ASAP!

Here are some quotes I just loved:

"Maybe I needed to buy her a turtle. That seems to have worked for Cam. Then again, she'd probably throw the turtle in my face and that wouldn't be fun, but she'd look hot doing it."

"Oliver Ryan," she said, and holy Christ cookies, I almost came hearing her say my full name. "I think you might actually like me."

"I've never been big on kissing, Brit. What's the point in it? But with you, I could fucking kiss you all night long. And throughout tomorrow, too."

"A smile was permanently etched on my face, and I knew it was the same kind of smile Cam wore whenever he was around Avery. I finally got what it meant and why."

I only read J. Lynn's Believe in Me. I really wanted to read about Ollie and Brittany. It was super and short and sweet. There really wasn't much to the story. I didn't love it or hate it.
