Have always loved Batman and this was fun. I have never seen the "Beware the Batman" TV series but I really liked this collection of short adventures in this awesome graphic novel. Looking forward to picking up more. :)

I don't have any kids the age this series is targeted towards (or at all, actually), and I haven't seen the cartoon, so I am not sure how qualified I am to talk about this.

With both of those things in mind, and treating this as the kids book that it is, this is quite good. The good guys are good and the bad guys are bad, though there is at least one case of "the bad guy has a right to be angry, but he chose the wrong outlet," which I found unexpected.

There's a girl with a sword that never manages to actually cut anyone, Batman's ears are like a foot tall, and Lex Luthor plays the role of Alfred Pennyworth. What more could you want?

In this series a younger Batman is partnered with Katana rather on one of the various Robins or Batgirls. It's an unusual pairing that really brings out a new vibe for a Batman title. Katana is used well, particularly in issue 5 which is written by Katana creator, Mike W. Barr. There's also an issue that features Barbara Gordon/Oracle and Tim Drake. I don't recall these characters appearing in the show, but I don't think I ever finished it.

I really like the Katana in this book. I wish both the series and the comic had been given more time to grow. It feels incredibly original which is hard to do in a Batman story anymore.

One of my favourite recent superhero graphic novels. It was written for kids which I found strange as some of the words used were at the level for teens. It also has a more complex storyline than many children's grahic novels.
