I am not much of a non-fiction reader, so honestly the fact that I finished this biography is a testament to the author's ability to weave a narrative around Leonardo Da Vinci's life and his many passions. I appreciated the emphasis on how many of Da Vinci's projects were left unfinished (relatable) and how so many of his masterpieces took many years to finish, reminding us that growth is not linear or fast. Alfred Molina did a great job with the audio book as well!

Wow. This is a thorough and comprehensive book. It was a little dry at times, but one cannot argue that the author didn't do his work. What a fascinating life Leonardo led. Most of us won't accomplish 1/80th of what he did.

I tried really hard and read 70% of this, but it focused too much on technicalities for me. It was just so dull and repetitive!

I always only knew Leonardo for Monalisa. Even when I saw the Monalisa in the Lourve in 2017, I only admired the smile. Reading this book, i was able to truly appreciate what a great genius DaVinci was. The arrangement of topics is fantastic, and the material very interesting, I’d recommend this book to anyone.
