Loved this one! First book I've read from Marley Valentine, but won't be the last! Julian and Deacon were everything. Great connection, super hot. They were forbidden and surprising, but made perfect sense after everything they'd been through. I just loved them so much!

I really struggle with siblings getting together with their dead siblings partner. It's gross. I also really hate the evil parent trope.

Also, Julian should have read the letters. So disrespectful to Rhett, who is supposedly loved so much.

This was such a great story. I was hooked from the prologue all the way to the end.

Deaconโ€™s younger brother Rhett just passed away, and before he leave to go back home after the funeral, his mom asks him to deliver some stuff to Julian, Rhettโ€™s lifetime best friend, and boyfriend. What Deacon did expect to find was a heartbroken Julian, but what he didnโ€™t expect was to feel so much pain seeing him that way. Deacon comforts Julian, and a tenuous friendship.

Deacon lives 12 hours away from his family in Seattle, but he agrees to come back home for the one year anniversary of Rhettโ€™s death. Julian and Deacon are forced into each otherโ€™s proximity during the events around the anniversary, and they begin to become friends and find solace in each otherโ€™s presence.

While Deacon is home, he canโ€™t help but find himself drawn to Julian. He wants to spend all his time near him, and finds excuses to touch him. Slowly Deacon and Julian find their relationship shifting, and both arenโ€™t sure what to do about it because of Rhett, and they must decide what to do.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. This is my first mm audio and I want more lol

This is definitely a good mm romance starter if youโ€™re interested in reading this trope

I love both these characters and loved that there was no 3rd act breakup and they helped each other be better!
