I really enjoyed this book. I can't wait to see what happens with the characters in the next book. And how their individual relationships grow and how the group relationship Grows
3.5/5
2/5
Tropes:
~ Dark romance
~ Why choose
~ A "little" hockey romance
~ Forced proximity
I really loved how the beginning of this one played out. I enjoyed it up until about 40%. At the 40% mark it felt like it slowed down a bit which was weird because that was when the plot thickened and we were introduced to her step brother, Grayson. This was the turning point in the story where I started to not like certain things that were happening.
I think a lot of people will love this one, and I'll continue the series when the next one comes out because I do feel like I need more, but right now I'm kind of having mixed feelings about some things.

This book while read in just one day is definable going to stick with me.
My heart is broken from the life she’s had to live and the way it’s still struggling along. I hope this series ends with the happiest of endings because that’s all she deserves.
I don’t know how she can accept Grayson and I hope when he eventually finds the truth he fucking begs her. I won’t accept anything less.

SO... I read this book in one sitting and was OBSESSED.
Riley is such a sympathetic lead. You can't read this book without falling in love with her and empathizing with her past, and how that still haunts her. The entire time I was reading this, I just wanted to wrap her up and protect her from everyone who has ever hurt her or taken advantage of her in any way. She's just trying to move on with her life, better herself and take care of her endless responsibilities, but people keep getting in the way of that. I really hope in the next book she fully embraces her bad ass energy and gets back at everyone who has hurt her, because she deserves (more than) a bit of vengeance.
As for the guys? I kinda hate them at this point. I know R.A.'s books well enough to know that she's gonna have me fully in love with them by the end of the series, but damn, am I side eyeing tf out of a certain someone right about now. Yes, I mean Grayson. I got a list of names and his is *most definitely* in red underline. When you have the whole context of the situation, that kitchen scene was even more fucked up than it was just in the moment, and I don't really know how he's gonna make up for that one. I expect a whole lot of groveling in the next book.
As usual, R.A. Smyth has me in a chokehold and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
