R A Smyth does it again. I absolutely love her writing. The complex characters, strong FMCs, and addicting storylines are…well, addicting. And this book had all of that.

Riley is at Halston U on a scholarship but she wasn’t offered loving accommodations because of dorm renovations. That means she needed to get a job at the local burlesque club. Her goal this year was to focus on school and make the money she needed to cover expenses and send back to her mother. Logan Astor is captain of the hockey team and at risk of being benched due to his grade in Statistics, the professor pairs him up with Riley for tutoring. They grow closer. Royce King can no longer play football so he fights under the name “ruthless” in an underground fighting ring. Grayson has the world on his shoulders due to his dad being in prison for embezzlement which he blames his step sister Riley for and seeks revenge when he finds out that she’s the girl captivating Logan’s (his roommate) attention. They’re all on board for his revenge plot until the begin questioning grayson’s dad’s story. Eventually they’ll have to choose sides….trust a 4yr friendship or a beautiful woman they just met.

Even though I knew where the plot was headed, I was still left reeling.

My heart broke for Riley and everything she had to endure at the hands of others. But her inner strength and perseverance still shone through the darkness around her.

Riley was incredible. She's so strong and a survivor. Living a quiet college life while busy with side work her life turns upside down after she met with 3 men.

The guys, Logan, Royce and Grayson were so different with each other yet they clicked very well. I love how different they were since I could differentiatee each of them. The author also introduce each of them in different time instead of all at once so I can understand each of their characters better.

There's so many unexpected events and layers. Since page 1, I keep scrolling to next page! Simply couldn’t put it down. I love the pacing of this story. I’m looking forward for the next book! Please come out quickly.

Thank you @peachykeenas & author @rasmythauthor for the arc copy

Traumatic read

Wow, such an angst emotion packed book, it tore my heart out.Riley our FMC has been thru so much and keeps struggling on.
I love how she constantly challenges herself and pushes past her comfort zone to live her life without fear.
The guys I really want to hate especially Grayson who I want to slap silly. Really hoping the next book will have plenty grovelling in it. These boys have a lot to make up for.
This story is so tragic, really hoping for some retribution for Riley in the next book, a truly amazing read.

This read was very confusing. At first I felt really bad for Riley and what she was going through even years after. I was very happy reading about het and Logan. But when Grayson came into the story I got very confused. By Logan's decisions but  also the emotioneel and feelings of Riley. Especially during the kidnapping. I wanted to stop reading several times. I'm glas Logan and Royce know she was speaking the truth but I can't really decided how I feel about her reactions to the sex abuse done to her by all three guys..... or evennthe fact that Logan also took part in it.

I started reading this heartfelt and at the same time a tragic story in one day. I could not stop reading about Riley, Logan, Royce, and Grayson.  My heart hurts for the young Riley what she went through at the age of 16. I was cheering her on for her strength and determination to better herself by going to college on an academic scholarship.
Logan, Royce and Grayson have their own family issues but bond together to support each other. Riley falls for Logan  and has a love/hate with Royce. Grayson is in a doghouse for me. I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait for book 2.

When I read the blurb I was so excited for this book. Riley is just trying for a fresh start at Halston U. When she meets three guys Logan, Royce, and her stepbrother Grayson. This book was so good that I couldn't put it down. By the end I loved Logan and wanted to punch Greyson. And that cliffhanger I can't wait for book two for answers
