Spoiler-free review.
I can’t say I’m surprised this book didn’t work out for me. After the ending of The Bandit I already knew a lot of things would annoy me in book two. And I was right - I was bored and irritated the whole time.
Mian was my main problem. That girl is stubborn to a fault. Most of it stems from her mama-bear instincts, yet somehow Caylen still seemed more like a prop rather than an important aspect of the story. He was constantly shoved to different people. Anna, Lucas, Z, Angel - you name it and I guarantee they’ve been assigned the role of babysitter a few times. Mian supposedly made every decision based on what’s best for Caylen, so why did everybody else spend more time with her son than she did?
As for Angel’s family history, I’ll be honest and confess that I skipped anything relating to it. The history was confusing because everybody had a name beginning with the letter A. If somebody tried to explain this to me in real life I would look them in the eye, respond with “omg that’s crazy”, and go back to whatever I was doing.
Despite all of this, I would love to see Z or Augustine get their own story.

| I am blown away. Miss Reid delivers a fantastic conclusion for Stolen Duet. I remember fondly I like Bandit so much. It took me year to finally get my hand on The Knight.
Angel and Mian's story is full with twist and drama. So many lies, covers up and betrayal. I am loving every moment of it. Their chemistry is explosive. I love Angel. He is smart hero. And Mian is his equal. I do not want to reveal the plot in my review.
I only want to highlight how talented Miss Reid building her world and set her characters to play like a game of chess. The Knight contains more history of the Angel/ Bandit exclusive club. Some readers might find it boring, but I find it necessary to understand the story.
What a wonderful story.

First off... May contain slight spoilers (not much though).
Why?
Oh, I’ll tell you exactly why I hated this.
Mian.
The ending.
Why?
Oh, I’ll tell you why, or how about I just let Angel tell you. I quote Angel’s statement, “you’re the same naive girl you were when you were sixteen.”@ Mian.
She’s unbelievable, once again. I don’t even know if the author even wanted me to like her, like some Sierra Burgess shit where the main girl isn’t even redeemable. Mian is seriously a pain in my ass; she’s so bratty, immature, selfish, and literally, she said that she may be young, but how she’s experienced so much and how that makes her mature. Fuck no, it doesn’t. Does. Not. She’s the same bratty bitch from last book.
The ending... didn’t like it. Not at all. The ending ruined it. Honestly. Angel didn’t need to do what he did; he was already a redeemable character. Mian on the other hand... fucking bitch. Angel had so many layers to his character which made you like him, as you see he’s human yet has so many flaws... while Mian was just a brick. A fucking block-head. How does he even like her, much less love her? I can’t see ONE redeeming quality in Mian.
I love the concept of The Knight, and I love Angel. But for the hatred held for Mian... it overpowers any of that.

Angel doesn’t get his baby, and Mian gets the life she's always wanted. How is that fair when Angel did everything for her and he doesn't even get one thing he wants?
And I close again.

The ending would’ve been redeemable if she was pregnant with Angel’s baby. And not because I think women should have babies just because the man wants them, or that every HEA should end with the chick pregnant. But after all this shit Mian put Angel through... come on... Honesty, I just wanted a happy ending for Angel, and if he wanted to be with Mian... at least let her be pregnant.Angel doesn’t get his baby, and Mian gets the life she's always wanted. The perfect conclusion to a twisted fairytale. Please see my full review at: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1985989774
This was a stellar continuation of the love story between Angel and Mian. It's jam-packed with suspense and vengeance. I love the big twists that this author threw in, and especially loved how she allowed for a lot of growth for these characters.
Through it all, Angel never ceases to care for Mian. I love the added bonus of seeing his love for her baby grow as well. He was the complete package from his lust for Mian, to his protectiveness of her baby, and his fierce handling of his family's business. We see a lot more of the inner-workings of their mafia-style business in this book which added another fun dimension.
In the end, this duet was a home run for me because of Angel. He's the kind of man you want to love you. He gives his all, sacrifices anything and everything to protect you, and remains loyal AF.

Not as good as the first one. Very predictable, a bit boring and the story was dragged a bit. Mian got on my nerves, jesus "I want to be with you" , then "i hate you, i can'" , then "i have this feeling" , "I don't like you" , "I promise to stay" and to finish it "oh wait, i decided I can't take it", she is so annoying.
and while Angel spent the book showing he cares for her, he loves her, Mian spends the book trying to hurt him. Honestly, I didn't feel love from her. I didn't feel she actually loves him.
