I feel like the ending (like the majority of volume 8) was a bit rushed, but Togata said that Agni's story would have a bad ending so that makes it meta and cool.
This is 100% not a story for everyone, and I feel like the arguments that the darker themes are just shock value and that they're to make the story realistic can be true at the same time. That being said, I do think the praise this series gets is well deserved. The art is beautiful, the characters are so unique (I ♥️ you Togata) and it's themes, messages and allegories are handled so well. Definitely a read to remember
