This book started off pretty mid to me, but my attention was hooked by the ⅓rd mark. From there it just kept ramping up and up. The ending was insanely good.

When Dr. B started pacing the length of his former cell, i literally gasped out loud.

Yes, this book is about chess, but its more about the human mind under pressure and the aftermath of psychological abuse and the long-term effects of coping mechanisms.
