It it wasn’t for Daphne’s POV it would have been a 1 star from me. Daphne would have been a solid 3 star but Amber drove me INSANE and the overuse of the word “delicious” took off a solid star.

As I was reading it, I couldn't shake the feeling that the overall setup - the cunning outsider insinuating themselves into a life of privilege and luxury - was heavily reminiscent of another book I'd recently consumed. But upon further reflection, I realize Constantine's novel legitimately came first.

While the interloper-infiltrates-ritzy-lifestyle premise doesn't feel quite as freshly originated now, Constantine still puts her own stylish spin on it. The execution remains stellar - a total, soapy page-turner filled with complex, juicy characters and situations.  For anyone newly discovering this type of psychological suspense story, it's a deliciously twisty, unputdownable read.

really good plot. the book is a thriller but it isn’t sickening, I recommend it if you’re into thrillers but don’t want to read the typical gruesome themes of thrillers
