Second chance romance always drive me insane. Y’all are making relationship problems for the sake of relationship problems. This couple loved each other enough to not get over it for FIFTEEN YEARS. FMC is literally a virgin at 33 because she can’t get over MMC… but they don’t love each other enough to actually talk about their personal issues. The whole senecio was just super unrealistic. They haven’t seen or heard anything about each other in more than a decade despite their families being so involved. The excuses and time line just seemed unbelievable.
Also, why do we have racial diversity that is shallow af? Why is the FMC ethnically Hawaiian when its only relevance is for her appearance? She’s never been to Hawaii, never mentions any Hawaiian words, customs, or foods. You 100% forget she is supposed to be Hawaiian until it’s mentioned with her skin tone. That’s just lazy writing/diversity.

Bookish friends, meet Dex Hardy. I absolutely devoured this book! It was so good. I'd even say it's my favorite in the series. Dex and Keelani have been through so much, trying to survive after a tragic accident in their teens. Once madly in love, now complete strangers. When they come across each other years later, can the tension and chemistry between them really be avoided? Can Dex stand by and watch her get engaged to another man?

my favorite Hardy!!
Okay so I know I say this every time but Dex is my new favorite Hardy brother LOL. He’s still no Cade but who knew someone could top Cade’s cray. Also yes I am aware Cade is an Armanelli but he will forever be my number one guy out of this entire connected universe. Out of all the brothers Dex is the most possessive jealous brother and it probably says more about me at the fact that I love that. My heart broke for Kee though and what she dealt with. Also that plot twist at the end I did but didn’t see coming if it makes sense?! But hands down the best part was ALL the girls, Kee, Delilah, Izzy, Evie, and Clara all at the pool. LOL can we somehow get a live reenactment of that entire scene playing out because I can’t stop laughing just thinking about it.

Shain is an instant buy author for me, & she just continues to blow me away! Dex & Kee were outstanding! Their story was so well done! They had their shared trauma, demons, heartbreak, & secrets to work through, but their love for the other never really went away. Their chemistry is intense for sure, & them finding their way back to their love was deliciously good!
Dex is up there with Cade level unhinged when it comes to Kee, & I am here for it! He knows how to push all her buttons, take control, & give her what she needs (even if she doesn’t know or realize she needs it). He’s so controlled in every aspect, until it comes to Kee. Dex may actually be my favorite Hardy brother now

Once again Shain did not disappoint. I waited for what seemed like for ever for this book and it was so worth it! I was anxious because I just wanted them shut up and make up already because of the history and the connection was there but their story was 100% worth the read!
Best friend’s older brother who is also your high school sweetheart that you haven’t seen in almost 15 years…what could go wrong. I could not read this book fast enough! He’s secretly never gotten over his feelings for her and forces her to be engaged to him for PR reasons and so he can get over here but then it becomes a little too real for him.
This book had everything. The tension, the longing, the second change. Another great book by this great author.
