Have you ever woken from a recurring dream wondering if you have just dreamt something, or if it really did happen? I have & it can be super freaky! I got that same feeling reading this book. I enjoyed the actual writing itself and the plot line was definitely intriguing but I am still trying to reconcile the events in my mind and are pondering exactly what happened in the end. The disorientation of the main character is very clearly conveyed and flows on into the reader. I can see this could be made into an interesting and intriguing movie. I can already envisage what it might look like on the big screen, although I am not certain I would go & see it.

A fever dream of a story. I don’t think you ever know the main character/protagonist’s name. So that already makes me uncomfortable. So, he’s driving home from work early morning and finds a girl in his driveway. He attempts to drive her home, but the day restarts itself and he finds the stranger in his driveway again.  And it gets weirder and weirder from there. Fans of “I’m Thinking of Ending Things” by Iain Reid will like this novel. But the end of “One” is so much more satisfying and easier to understand.
