I just find it hilarious that the premise of this whole book relies on the fact that a bunch of random people decided to start meticulous diaries at the exact same time. It really is fictional for a reason
Also, not nearly as scary as I thought it would be. Although the section with the Russian (I believe?) sailors was pretty creepy.
I know a lot of people find this book dreary or boring but I was actually really locked in for most of it. Only sometimes did I feel it was a bit dragged out, and some of the characters were a bit kitschy, especially in their fierce meekness, but overall I had a great time

You know? Not too bad for what it is. I expected more dracula. I also went into this expecting a horror story but its more like a dramatic comedy. These bitches all love each other! It’s really sweet.

Story nosedives completely after leaving Transylvania, but there's still some good stuff throughout it. Watch Werner Herzog's Nosferatu instead. Nice to see some Vlachian representation.

It was a pretty good read. But, the age, 120 years, shows pretty much. The writing style, ornamentations, metaphors, etcetera. The story was interesting. Not scary, for me. The thing is, vampires ain't scary no more. Thanks to Twilight. Not scary, but grim and dark. Lots of love.
