While I really enjoyed this book, I wish there was more emotional development between the two main characters. There is so much going on around them from outside forces that indirectly affected them that did detract from their personal story. That being said, it is definitely worth the read! I love the Dark Kings series and was so excited to finally find out what makes Cross tick.

Cross was one of the stories I wanted to hear about most in the series. I enjoyed the plot of this book, I do wish there was a little more of Alexa and Cross as a couple rather than the background story, but overall really good!

I’m in the minority here but I loved Cross! I loved both characters and the plot throughout. There wasn’t a single moment when I felt like it got dull or boring.
Alexa was a fun FMC. She didn’t take no shit and that’s the kind of FMC I love with Shantel’s writing. I loved her relationship with Jasmine as well. I enjoyed more moments with her and her hilarious comments throughout! I seriously ate this book up!
Having to relive moments from the previous books made me a bit emotional, but I love the men in this series and their brotherhood they have with each other. I loved seeing them come together for Grave after giving him the tough love he needed in his book.
Loved seeing the continued friendships with the girls as well! Learning more about the Dark Kingdom and their pasts with their fathers. You learn a bit more every book and I loved that.
I cannot wait to finally get to Bones and finish the series!! It’s been a fun ride! These books are totally bingeable!
