When Yuki goes to Tomas house(another pure blood) she gets attacked by his(assuming him) familiar and gets called a bitch. I think that’s the first curse word in this...I think I haven't really been looking for any. Then Zero shows up because he was there visiting his brothers grave so he picks her up and takes her to a hunter society hideout and Aido is still following her but he cant enter unless hes being held by Zero like yuki. lol. He obviously has to because it was Kaname’s orders. Also she then tries to drink his blood, but then she realizes what shes doing and jumps out the window. Then Kanames familiar takes her home in this like bat storm. Kaname then shoqws her that he’s not her brother and shows her his memories. Also we see how the weapons against vampires were made by this one progenitor who ripped out her own heart to throw it into molten metal and gave her blood to the start of the vampire hunters. Also, Aido has been taken hostage by Zero because “he made him mad”

Ok, Ok things are moving once more! Thank goodness! So, in this one we get another revelation!!! Now I have to wait for the next volume to arrive from the library. Impatience at its best!

One of the better volumes. The flashbacks made this volume particularly interesting. The revelation surrounding Kaname is pointless. In fact his entire presence in this series is part of reason I don't care for the series.

I don't understand the author's motives when writing this series. There are so many different and just better directions this series could have taken. Instead we're left with a semi incestuous twilight where werewolves have been replaced with vampire hunters.

I am hopelessly drawn to this beautifully drawn series, even though I have to sheepishly admit that I don't always understand what the heck is going on. Make that, I rarely understand what the heck is going on! Still, I keep turning those pretty, pretty pages, latching onto whatever little chunks of understanding I can grab hold of. Some day it will be crystal clear (I can keep hoping) but until then, I will enjoy the gorgeous art, and pretend that I understand more about the plot than I will ever let on.

My Vampire Knight reviews are getting quite repetitive at this point, but oh well. I am still mixing up characters and am not sure about everything that is happening. This thirteenth volume has the big reveal that
Kaname is not actually Yuki’s brother but a century old vampire that is Yuki’s ancestor and who took over the body of Yuki’s brother when he was still an infant … that doesn’t make it better and less creepy. I still dislike the shipping and I’m afraid that they’ll be endgame
. Another problem I have with the story is that it’s teasing so many interesting conflicts but never goes through with them.

Like I’ve mentioned before, I appreciate the friendship between Yuki and Aido and I wish it would be explored more. It’s also nice that Zero is back and that
Yuki and him almost kissed
. The moments I enjoyed in this volume included him; him visiting the grave of his brother was quite sad and the graveyard was such an atmospheric setting, like most of the settings in the series. What I still dislike about Yuki’s character though is that she’s very passive; to be honest, every character is more interesting than Yuki and Kaname.

plus sombre encore que les précédents, un peu rapide, mais toujours addictif de mon côté !
