i could smell the teacher grooming students from a mile away and i don’t want to read about it. it seems good based on the reviews but i only read the reviews to verify that yes, he’s grooming her. literally one chapter in (even like the first few bits that teacher was sus as hell). may return one day to study signs of grooming so i can avoid it

it’s almost 2 am, i have to be up early tomorrow morning but i still read this book in one sitting.

i think this book is one any teenager should read. it’s honestly disgusting how realistic it is and how things like this are still happening. i think it’s the perfect introduction if you’re looking for books about feminism, especially if you’re in middle school or highschool.

marin is who i wish i could be. she’s strong and stood her ground even when the people closest to her told her she was wrong and that they didn’t believe her. the book club she started has me wanting to start one at my own school. i loved how there was a teeny bit of romance with gray but it didn’t overshadow the main idea of the book. i also like how there was a satisfying ending because if there wasn’t i would’ve gone crazy.

i definitely recommend this book and will be searching for others like it!!

This is a very powerful YA book! The protagonist is trying to find her identity and eventually found it through eventful high school senior year - breaking up with her old boyfriend, standing up for herself and her friend, losing her friendship and but having it back at last. Again, LOVE the narrator.

Man, was this a necessary read. It was difficult at times, eye-rolly at times, but it always felt authentic. This is a great (fictional) example of the messiness of understanding and navigating sexual harassment, gender power inequity, and gaslighting in high school. It's also a really great example of how a male peer advocate acts/talks/supports. I loved the authenticity of voice and the differences between the voice in one's head, the voice one uses when confronted, and the measured, thoughtful voice afforded in writing. I definitely recommend this for young women, and young men as well.

I love this book. It's smart and thoughtful and doesn't preach. The characters are fantastic and the voice is so strong. Highly recommend!
