I listened to the audiobook for this one and I loved the story, but I wish I would have physically read this story. This story was such a ride but I think if I had physically read it I would have given it a full five stars.

an interesting take on a murder mystery! lowkey felt like this could easily be adapted into a board game, like Clue

3.5 stars. An original spin on a classic ‘whodunit’. Aiden Bishop must relive the same day as eight different people until he solves the mystery: who killed Evelyn Hardcastle? It started off strong and then significantly slowed down for several chapters. Luckily, it picked back up and the last few chapters were fast-paced.

I would have rated it higher for the last 30% of the book which was a whole lot more interesting and intriguing than the initial 70%, but then I remembered that I only got to the end because of my own perseverance...that part of the story simply could not pull me in.

-1 Star: Structure (Not bad, just complicated)
Caveat: I am not usually a fan of the time loop narrative. I've only found two other variations of the Groundhog's Day formula I genuinely (Happy Death Day 2U, The Edge of Tomorrow). I don't think I've encountered it in a novel before, so this is a fantastic twist on the exhausted formula. Clever, elegant, with a gloomy gothic tone, I enjoyed getting lost in this book. Just go with it and it will exceed your expectations. The character list is long, so for some that might be off-putting, in tandem with the time loop format. (I usually look up a MyCast or FanCast or an actual adaption cast to help juggle large character sets). Pace yourself, enjoy this one as the pieces fall into place. Just when you think you've puzzled out the ending...
