How to Be Less Stupid about Race: On Racism, White Supremacy, and the Racial Divide

There are quite a few anti-racist books out there that are worth reading, but I recommend this one for the non-nonsense, intersectional feminist approach that blends honesty with dry wit. It’s both an easy read, because Ms.Fleming is a skilled writer, and a touch read, because it’s clear we have so much work to do. If you are just dipping your toe into anti-racism, you may want to read the foot notes or start with a more basic book. I appreciate the practical advice on tackling the problem of white supremacy along with the subtle encouragement to just do more.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is willing to confront their own biases and strive for an antiracist society. This book is helping to empower me in having more productive conversations surrounding race and gave great ways for someone to get involved, wherever they are at in their antiracist journey.
This book is incredibly multi-faceted, educational, and easily digestible to look at so many different nuances of racism. Must-read is an understatement.
Eye opening! I learned so much from this book, I am going to further my education on anti-racism with more works by this author for sure.
Such a damn good and important read. I had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Fleming speak at my university this year, and was excited to embark on this book, hoping her personality would seep through the pages. And it absolutely did! She writes in a way that makes this extremely difficult topic accessible for most everyone. She incorporates humor, but never at the expense of the truth. She is not afraid to say it how it is. To my fellow whites especially, buy a copy of this, read it, be uncomfortable, LEARN, and do.

A must read for everyone as it very clearly and concisely distills a significant amount of information that we all should know.
She tells it like it is for sure and nobody gets a pass.
I particularly like the call out to listen to black women's voices that is a large theme in this book.
Da-amn, Crystal Fleming doesn not pull punches in this book, and I love her for it. Super important and critical read about race - primarily in America, but with some information about global issues with race also thrown in there. I learned so much from this book. And I feel like I may need to read it at least one more time, if not again, just to soak up everything that Fleming is teaching here. I also LOVED the last chapter with her suggestions about what to do next. Really great book all-around, and an extremely important read for white people in particular.
