Well these characters and story will live in my head for a long long time. The ending had me crying. I think it was a beautiful ending to Mina and Shay’s story. Emotional read but also 5 star read for me. I will be continuing the series as I need to read it all now.

So here are my thoughts:
I didn't like any of the characters besides Mina. I found it supeeeer weird that she was a minor. I didn't cry at all. I really hate shay and also most of the characters. I did really like the writing and how it approached the things that were happening.

Didn’t love the open ending!

I wanted an HEA which I guess you can make up your own with the way it ended. I liked the book and how sometimes you have to sacrifice yourself for those you love.

The book was a bit predictable but that’s okay! I still enjoyed the ups/downs of the book.

Overall, interesting concept but I would love to have seen what happened after they escaped. Does she reconnect with her dad? Does she ever return?

Let's again start buy saying that I feel 3 stars is not bad. It is a good book. Was it exactly my "type" of book.... probably not. But a good book non the less. A 5 star book to me is one I read over and over and over and over again. This falls in the average star review. Some people 5 star everything.

That being said...
This was a good book. I was kind of cringing at a lot of parts considering how young Mena was. Do we have to always have high school kids? Can we not have these same issues and trials with grownups as the main characters? I think that is one of the reasons it turned me off from both books.
But again the writing was good. The plot had me intrigued and I had to finish it. Would this be a book I picked up to read again and again.... probably not. BUT I will read Dylan Page's other books.

This series will f you up even long after you finish it. I normally only read HEA but I didn't regret reading this one bit. It got a somewhat sweet and satisfying ending.
