I am satisfied with the ending of this book. I was very uncomfortable reading the majority of it. The author does a great job of showing trauma bonding and coercive control.
We watch Shay destroy Mina bit by bit, and her inner voice makes excuses for him and blames herself. It was quite traumatic; I hated Shay and wanted her to leave the entire time.
The jacket and the tattoo were horrible, and it made me feel as helpless as she was. I wanted to scream at her to run and leave, but you can see how impossible it would be in that situation with no money and being so young.
Does Shay redeem himself in the end? Not really, but it is the best he could do

I NEVER cry…

Omg! The emotions….. This writer knows how to tug at my heart. I hope that there will be more to everyone’s story.

I liked it a lot up until the ending.
I was shocked, unprepared and devastated. I cried for about half an hour but I guess that’s on me for not checking the ending before I read it.
