I enjoyed this book about Phoebe, a young high school student who is watching her friend fall in love and is not really keen on the whole thing. She is determined to not be that girl when she turns 16. That is her plan, at least. The story was filled with humor as well as a fair amount of teenage angst. Highly recommended for those who like YA novels written in journal form. Book generously provided by Edelweiss.

Quite honestly one of the funniest books I've read. It gave me major Georgia Nicholson vibes from the get go, but ended up being so much more than that.
Wibke has created the most amazing group of characters, and I love how they each have their own personalities and are important to Phoebe's overall plot. Phoebe herself is just so effortlessly funny - a true testament to Wibke's amazing writing. I found myself cackling so many times.
I love love loved the format of diary entries - so readable and a sneaky tactic to make you not want to stop reading! Also loved the little hashtag titles.
I think my favourite thing (after Pat) was how things were just normalised within the book. Sex, being queer, relationships with slight age gaps (adult characters - don't worry!). It was really really fresh to see that within a YA book, and it gave me hope!

Love is for Losers is a lovely coming-of-age YA book. The kids in this book sound and behave like real teenagers - a feat for this genre. I also appreciated the sex-positive and supportive adults that were in this book. If only more caregivers behaved like Kate!
I found Phoebe to be a very sympathetic narrator. She's a 15 year old struggling with the idea of love, in all forms. Her lifelong best friend has a new boyfriend, and Phoebe is angry about how it has impacted their friendship. Her mom is a doctor, always traveling internationally to provide medical services to those in crisis. Phoebe enjoys living with her godmother, Kate, but harbors a lot of resentment for her mom and often feels abandoned.
I hope this becomes a series, I would read plenty more from Phoebe's journal and would love to see how she grows and finds her way in this world.
An e-copy of this book was generously provided to me by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this book from the funny remarks from Phoebe to the reality of life in the charity shop. Will definitely be reading more of Wibke Brueggemann's books

I really enjoyed this book. The book was told in a great diary type format which I always enjoy. I love a book with a flawed and honest narrator as well.
This book really had it all. A sarcastic narrator, a queer romance, a thrift shop romance, and so many cats! This book is so much fun but it also takes on series subjects like greaf and abandonment.
I really hope to see more from Brueggermann in the same vain as this book. I also can't wait to get my hands on the physical copy of this book. I mean just look at how great the cover is!
