This fantasy is based on the British pagan character The Green Man, who lives among the trees. The Green Man is one of my favorite characters in fiction, and there are many variations of the character including one written by Kingsley Amis that was made into a film starring the late Albert Finney. This particular man has lived in the woods with the dryads and assorted magical creatures for 400 years before he takes a wrong step. No spoilers here, so you will have to read the book.

what i liked:
-the world, the characters, the story, everything!
-the folklore and writing style
-the ending!!!

what wasn’t for me:
-i wanted a bit more backstory for Tobias and foreshadowing in the 30-50pg mark, once Mrs. Silver was introduced the story read so fast for me but there was a week or two where I dragged on finishing because I wanted a bit more intrique/context!
