Loved it. Quick, tender, poignant, fills you up like the silence of a wood. Would read again.

What a wonderful little story. I know that it is meant to be on the shorter side so many things happen that are simply told as a short paragraph such as the adventures that Tobias went on. However, I can't help but wish that there was more.

A captivating fairytale that feels like it's a tale that has always been around. Author does an amazing job packing in some much with just a short amount of pages. I really want a book that focuses on Tobias' backstory.

I enjoyed this! Wasn't expecting it to be a novella, as I wanted to get into something beefier, but I ALSO had no idea there were queer characters in it! Two initial surprises, and pleasantly, the third was that I really liked this and want to read the second.

What an interesting version of the Green Man story! I really enjoyed the “lore dumps” that masqueraded as the babbling of a nervous but intelligent young man. It felt a lot like when I try to explain the story behind one of my passions and it all comes out in one big info dump. What a great debut!

Possibly a new favourite.

Of course, as whenever I read a novella, I desperately wanted MORE but I also think everything we got was perfect. I never felt particularly rushed or like we weren't getting all the information. But I would have loved more backstory with Fabian and even more time with Silver.

I realise I have a HUGE love for queer things happening in a spooky forest. So, this fits right into my wheelhouse and I loved every second. I loved Tobias and Silver and Mrs Silver too. Really great quick read.
