The fight against Ulquiorra and Grimjow was way too short imo - I definitely wanted more of that action!!! Otherwise, I love the team up between Ishida and Renji but I'm still worried about Chad! Where is he? Is he okay???

What a bizarre cover. Not only do we have a pink-haired man in all white in the throes of ecstasy, there’s this purple thing coming out of his waste band. You can imagine what I thought it was originally. Second glance it looks like a bowel loop and that isn’t any better….

Ichigo fights Uliquorra who tells him Rukia is dead. This battle doesn’t go so well. Orihime is being tormented in her cell but Grimjowl puts an end to that since he wants her to heal Ichigo so he can kill him himself. In the meantime Renji and Uryu are fighting the pink-haired freak on the cover. At least they’re faring slightly better. Bleach is Bleach, one long continuous, often not even that interesting, fight scene. This is strictly library, I’m not paying for it, fare.

There are some great mini plots happening in here, but they are being kept very small scale in favor of battle sequences. Those are cool, don’t get me wrong. But their coolness is limited in manga form where you just move panel to panel.

I’m hoping for a bit more depth soon! The pieces are there dang it! I’m still loving everything that’s happening, but I need some story momentum here.
