Wanted: Tutor for football jock who can use Calculus on the field – even though he doesn’t realize it. Bonus points if tutor is also quiet, smart, sexy and jock’s roommate.

Cobey Green is rich, openly bisexual, incredibly nice, has a loving & supportive family and is very attractive. The one thing he isn’t? A calculus whiz. So, to stay on the team, his parents move him out of the party house he’d lived in freshman year and into the dorms. There were no single rooms left, so Cobey has a roommate, and he is not at all what Cobey thought he’d be like.

Vincent Brandt is not rich, not out of the closet, lacks social graces, has a dad who wants nothing to do with him and has no other friends or family and doesn’t realize that he’s handsome. The one thing he is? A tutor – calculus tutor. He is at school on a full-ride and tutors to make money for everything his scholarship doesn’t cover.

Whatever Vincent was expecting of Cobey, it wasn’t for him to make his heart pitter pat, make him open his mouth and talk about himself, volunteer to tutor him in all his firsts (wink wink, nudge nudge) and fall in love with him. Vincent understands books, data and numbers. He doesn’t understand why Cobey wants him and neither does Cobey, but that doesn’t stop them from falling in love.

There is no failing grade in loving Cobey and Vincent’s cluelessness about falling and being in love. Luckily, they each have a friend (and yes, Vincent, you had a friend all along) who helps them realize it. The drama is minimal, the heat is high, the sweetness is delicious and the way they fall without major angst is perfection. N.R. Walker nailed her contribution to the Franklin U universe, and I loved every. Single. Page.

I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy and, as always, my review is unpaid and honest.

Do you know what it’s like when you read a new (to you) author and as soon as you finish, you have to go and find their entire back-history because you need to read everything they’ve ever written immediately? Yeah, that was this book for me.

I have been seriously enjoying the Franklin U series of books, not least because it has introduced me to authors I haven’t read before. As far as I know, I haven’t read any N.R. Walker books before and for that I can only give past-me a smack to the back of the head. This was absolutely brilliant – witty, fun, touching, sexy – the relationship that grew between Cobey and Vincent was just everything! I picked this book up just after midnight and finished it just before 2 a.m. because despite being exhausted, I couldn’t bring myself to put it down.

This book was so normal and ordinary in so many ways – it was boy meets boy, boy embarrasses the heck out of himself in front of boy, boys decide to help each other out and in the process fall in love. But it was also extraordinary in how it told their story – it showed how they fell in love, it showed how much they cared about each other in the little things that they did, how protective they were of each other and their relationship.

I adored Nate and Jayda, as well as seeing glimpses of characters from other books in the Franklin U universe, and the epilogue made me laugh out loud. I would suggest flipping over a page after the epilogue so that you can see the newspaper clipping which literally made me say ‘awwww’ because it was just so sweet.

I wanted to leave a review straight away before I fell head-first into the next N.R. Walker book and because I wanted to make sure to leave a recommendation to read it – you won’t regret it!

I give ratings based on how a book makes me feel, and while this was not the most perfect book with the most believable dialogue, I absolutely loved it from start to finish. I thought Cobey and Vincent were absolutely adorable together, and I felt like their relationship grew organically. Vincent was the sweetest little ball of anxiety and Cobey was the most gentle puppy dog ever. Yes, there were some plot holes that were never filled in, but I truly didn't care because I giggled and kicked my feet the entire time. Five fucking stars for making me feel all.the.things.

A bingeable cheeseball college romance that was minimally realistic but maximally sweet, a lil spicy, and very entertaining.

AHHHHHH this was everything I wanted it to be AND THEN SOME. *dreamy sigh*

I loved this book so hard, I don't even know where to start with reviewing it. I love a good opposites attract romance, especially when it's a jock/nerd trope. Add in that they're roommates, Vincent is a total genius but sort of fails at people-ing, and Cobey is a giant cinnamon roll, and you've got two hundred and something pages of PURE MAGIC.

The chemistry between Vincent and Cobey is so great. I love Cobey's weight-lifting metaphor, it had me laughing my ass off. They're both so different and yet fit together perfectly, like two puzzle pieces. While there are plenty of hot moments in this book, the overall vibe is more pining, romance, cuddles, and punching someone in the face to defend your boyfriend. And the way Cobey and Vincent are so real and honest with each other, and work to have healthy communication (GASP!) was just really refreshing to read in a romance. Not once did I say "If they would just TALK TO EACH OTHER this would not be a problem aaaaaghhhhhh" and throw the book. (Yes, this is something I seem to often yell at romance novels - who knew?)

This was the first book I've read by N.R. Walker, but you'd better believe I went and marked half of her backlist as to read!

This is the sixth book in the Franklin U series. The FUKings books are all standalones set in the same universe and each written by a different author. As the blurb in the front matter says, "You don't need to read the other to enjoy this one (though you should, because they're awesome)." Can confirm 10/10 are awesome.

I loved these two guys. On paper, they are so opposite. Vincent is a genius on full scholarship with a neglectful childhood that still impacts his everyday life. School is a snap for him, but any social interaction practically makes him break out in a rash. Cobey is star football middle linebacker who is gregarious and incredibly nice to everyone he meets, all without a huge ego involved. School for him is a big struggle, especially calculus.

When Cobey's parents insist on him being in the dorms for his sophomore year at Franklin U, it's to encourage a more educational atmosphere for him. Luck would have it that his new roommate is a math genius AND a popular tutor. Cobey comes up with a barter proposal between Vincent and him: Vincent will tutor Cobey in calculus and Cobey with tutor Vincent on social interactions. But with both of them attracted to each other, luckily it doesn't stay professional.

I adored Cobey. His heart was as big as he was, and how he took Vincent under his wing, always checking Vincent's comfort level while still being encouraging made him one of my favorite characters. Vincent was so brave, overcoming his insecurities and being honest about his background with Cobey. The two of them were so perfect for each other. I loved the epilogue, seeing them in the years to come.

This was very sweet. I love Cobey as an MC.
