I did not want to put this book down to sleep!
I love the dynamic between Blake and Mercer and how they figure each other out. I also loved how Mercer found himself and it didn't feel so turbulent to be inside his mind as he developed.
This honestly felt like reading an entire season of a TV show in one book, there was just so much happening! I'd say it felt quite similar in chaos level to Alter Arlo, where you're always wondering what's coming next, which was great for building tension and keeping my attention fully.
I definitely wouldn't say no to reading about Blake's brothers either...

DNF 53% because I can’t think of anything else that could possibly happen in this book that I would care about
5 ⭐️

“Me and you, Mercer. Wherever the fuck you wanna go in life, no matter who you are or who you want to be, it's me and you."
Nordika Night has a gift of writing the weirdest, sassiest, most adorable bottoms in the entire world. Between Atticus St. James (Red Flags & Tuesdays) and Mercer Bentley Palmerston, I cannot tell you who my favorite is. I love them both with my entire being.
Blake and Mercer are couple goals. From the power struggles in the beginning to addressing Mercer’s identity issues and his need to be seen in the middle to them becoming absolutely addicted to each other by the end. The natural progression of their relationship was so beautiful and Blake always knew what Mercer needed from him but also knew Mercer needed to learn how to ask for what he needed as well. The chemistry, the spice, even the bickering in this book was super hot and electric. I laughed so much, and just really enjoyed the ride.
If I’m being completely honest, the whole Palmerston family drama was super out there and didn’t make a lot of sense. Even the Carter business was kind of all over the place. I ignored all this in favor of the romance and the hilarious side characters.
To conclude: I huffed. I scoffed. I laughed condescendingly. Iykyk.

This book really had everything I like, and I loved it! There was a gratuitous amount of spice, there was intrigue with a little bit of action, there was a deep emotional journey, we got lace and daggers and sarcasm, a 100% confirmed condescending laugh, and brattiness, and it was just very excellent! The plot of this book was really engaging, and the way it was written made this book feel twice as long as it actually was, which for me is a very good thing haha. I really loved Brent. The way he just stayed cool no matter what, didn't let Mercer get the upper hand, but was still so gentle with him, was chef's kiss. He was absolutely crazy for Mercer, and of course gave him what he wanted pretty much every time, but he did it in a way that didn't allow Mercer to stay in his pattern of trauma. I think Mercer might be my favorite brat that ever bratted. He was obviously using his attitude and defiance as a deflection technique, but underneath it all he was still all sass, and I just loved his personality. I loved how this book really did make it so that Mercer came out on top, getting everything he wanted and deserved.
