McCurdy does a wonderful job in portraying her experiences. It really gives all of the sides of the story. I love how she isn’t foreshadowing despite the book’s title. I felt with her all the way through

  • I’ve mixed feelings about this one, I’d heard rave reviews about it so expected to love it, but it was ok
  • Like how it ended tho
  • I wouldn’t recommend

I enjoyed learning about a child star’s experience of fame and the way she had to deal with being in the spotlight from such a young age. It is by no means a relatable read, but I think the reader can empathize with the author quite a bit.

Some aspects of wanting to please your mother no matter what and resenting her at the same time are so complex and well-written.

Knowing all the heavy topics mentioned throughout this book, one would thing it'd be a hard read, but Jennette's wonderful writing style never makes it hard. She bravely and humorously writes about it, and boy oh boy does it make you cry at times. I don't think I'm ever going to be able to watch anything she starred in, because knowing what was going on just sours everything. I'm happy she's doing much better now.
