Giulio was one of my fav characters in the Kings of Italy books, so I was soooo pumped for his story. The first 15% i had a hard time getting into the plot, but after the hump the book was a bop! This was MM Mafia fantasy

I loved the characters. The storyline was a bit boring to me. I have a half star because I loved both men so much

Ever since the start of the series I have been dying for Giulio’s story and this did not disappoint! This was the first MM romance I’ve read and I really enjoyed it!
I would highly recommend reading the previous books to truely appreciate this story because it sets the foundation for Giulio.
The chemistry, tension and angst between Giulio and Alessio was amazing and I was completely invested in them right from the start. I adored them and the beautiful connection they shared. This book had so much suspense, action and spice, it was all so good! I loved their banter and the cameos we got from previous characters.

I.. don't want to tear this book apart. I don't. But it was so wooden and stilted that I don't even know what to say about it. The relationship made no sense and appeared to be based solely on appearance and unfounded obsession (erections do not equal love, I'm sorry). Forgiveness was both easy and unobtainable (you did a thing? I CAN'T SEE PAST IT. my family beat the crap out of you? meh, that's just how it is. *boggles*). The reasoning behind decisions and motivations left me dumbfounded. The sex scenes were uninspired. There was virtually no tension. Ever. I don't know, man. It was a book and sure, I've read worse. But also, even at 63% I considered DNFing because I just couldn't bring myself to care about any of the characters.
There are a lot of great mafia romances out there. In my opinion, this isn't one of them.

I enjoyed the audiobook. I liked the narrators and the banter between the main characters. I felt so bad for Alessio especially when Guilio lashed out at him
