I was disappointed in this book, I felt like it should’ve been a novella or spin-off rather than part of the proper canon. I wasn’t a fan of the lack of Bastien and Celine, and the parts we did see of them showed very little (as well as some issues with their relationship). The story felt rushed and overall different to the first two, to the point where I felt I wasn’t even reading it as part of the series at times.
I do enjoy a fake marriage trope but this did feel flimsy at times especially as Arjun and Pippa’s relationship was practically non-existent in the first two books except for a mere attraction. Pippa ending up in the Sylvan Wyrd did allow us readers to experience it as an outsider and see it from the perspective of someone who hasn’t visited or heard of it before. The mythology was further deepened and we came to understand the schemes in place between the vampires and the fae.
By the end, I did enjoy Pippa and Arjun’s relationship, primarily on the basis that I loved Arjun as a character. Their relationship was so simply sweet I couldn’t help but love them together as a couple in the end. However, the ending had me baffled. The reveal at the end of who Ali truly is left my head spinning and the timelines, I had no idea what actually went down on that bridge, where all the wolves came from, where Bastien ended up and where Pippa was taken. I had to reread some of it to ensure I was understanding it correctly.
Overall, it was disappointing after how good the first two books were. I wish this had been a novella or spin-off after Celine and Bastien’s story had been completed. I will still read the last book which is released next year as I need to know how it ends and luckily the synopsis indicates that we’ll be back primarily with Celine. Let’s hope it wraps the story up well and completely.

Altogether now ... SQUEEEEE!!!!
I think the most pleasant surprise about this quartet is discovering that each book focuses on a different character(s). The first is Celine, the second is primarily Bastien, and the third is mostly Arjun and Pippa.
Arjun, I have loved from the beginning. The boy deserved his time in the limelight and I'm so glad. Pippa, however, was a shock to me. I didn't think she made much of an impression in the first couple books to warrant such attention now but I must be forgiven. I've seen the errors of my ways. I adored her with Arjun and their instalment is my favourite yet.
Funny enough, I no longer care about Celine and Bastien. Arjun and Pippa only. I mean, I do like Bastien, but Celine has worn out her welcome a little for me. Why this girl has three men evidently vying for her heart I will never know.
I'm dying to read the finale of this series. Thankfully I don't have long to wait, but that was quite the ending and it promises a lot of exciting and tragic times ahead for these characters.

I read this because I couldn’t get enough of the first two! I’m sad to say while I still enjoyed this book, there was too much steamy/sexy scenes for me. The first book was mostly adventure with some intimate tension but the series has gradually added more risqué scenes and it made this one a harder read for me. I’ll finish the series since I’m so far in but I’m hoping for less detail in these moments and more plot.

I adored the first two books in the quartet, but I’m left unsure with how to feel about this one. I’m not sure if it’s because a little more than three years passed between me reading the second book and this one, so the emotions and circumstances of the characters weren’t as fresh in my mind. Or if it’s because the story itself felt more like setup than actual action.
Either way, I still love Arjun, and how much he cares for others. Pippa frustrated me for a majority of the book, and I found her and Eloise’s dynamic to be annoying. The Celine and Bastien chapters also didn’t excite me like I thought they would.
I still have high hopes for the conclusion of the series because the ending of this book was one I didn’t see coming.
Mja, de andre var bedre.. Den lider meget under at der skal sættes plot op til næste bog. Men altså, jeg elsker Pippa og Arjun - og det er jo deres bog
