I am just trying the be true to myself and not continue books I don’t like. I am so over Pippa. I was just ready for her to character to be killed off and being inside her brain was annoying as hell. I hated her lack of self awareness that she was in a dangerous place.

4.5 stars. I adore this series. I love everything about it. I love the lyrical writing. I love how frickin angsty every single sentence is. I love that I was screaming at Arjun to just offer to marry Pippa, and then he frickin did it. I love that these two are so incompetent they couldn't even stop their fake wedding from happening.

I mentioned in my review of (I think) The Beautiful that I loved how this series combines the popular tropes of different eras of ya fantasy romance, and what made this book really impressive was that she added in the layer of contemporary faerie politics.

Content Warnings

While I really enjoyed this book, there were a few gripes I had with it. I needed more plot for this book. It seemed to drag in places, because it seemed to stray too far from the plot. Overall, it was alright. That ending left me needing the next one pronto.
