it was so different from the first two and i did not care about C+B at all.
Can I just say that Renée Ahdieh is the queen of wham, bam, crazy cliffhanger endings that leave you reeling while you wait for the next installment?! I am so sad that I have to wait for the final book to be published! This book read like a fantasy romance more than adventure and I was here for it.
This is the third book and I think the story REALLY takes a turn in this one. We leave New Orleans behind....and Celine/Bastien who? Time to meet the newest couple - Pippa and Arjun. And I miiiiiight have to say…..are they my new favorite couple of the series?! I love forced proximity and here is a fantastic one! The way they slowly open up to each other in a way they haven't with anyone else is lovely to read and I felt like their romance was the sole focus of most of this book (which I can't complain about honestly). The way Arjun respects Pippa and wants her to make choices for herself without any coercion despite his own feelings is fantastic.
I have to say, this book seems much different from the series. Not only does it take place away from New Orleans, but we also don’t see The Court of Lions. There is a new court and a whole new cast of characters to focus on. It’s also more of a slow burn; setting up the romance and the drama ahead. I didn’t dislike it, but it took me longer to adapt to these bigger changes and get into the stories. By the end though I was completely invested and now after that cliffhanger…. WE WAIT FOR MORE .
Thank you to the publishers for a digital copy of this book.

Celines character is different than in the first two, which was not enjoyable.
Pippa and Arjun are delightful, I'm so glad her character got fleshed out and Arjun is loved!

Thank you so much to Penguin Teen for a copy of this book!! It does not affect my review.
I adored this book- finally getting to see desi characters as vamps was mind blowing and I love it!! I adored this book and this series did take some time to grow on me, but it has a very strong conclusion. I’m a huge fan of Renee’s writing style and loved her other book- The Wrath and the Dawn!!In this book, we get Arjun and Pippa’s perspectives and it’s so compelling to read!! I promise no spoilers, BUT I freaking loved how Renee connected The Wrath & The Dawn to The Righteous - literally the perfect ending!!

I’ve been basically wasting a handful of minutes tagging this post because I just don’t know how to talk about this one. It’s the newest release from Renee Ahdieh in the world of The Beautiful. The Beautiful is a series set in 19th century New Orleans where werewolves, vampires, and fey hide in plain sight. (The Originals vibes anyone?) This one is book #3 and we start off in a completely different direction that we did in books one and two because we follow two completely new POVs. We follow Arjun Desai who is a half-fey, half-mortal and has spent most of his life being viewed by the full blooded fey of the Sylvain Vale as a lesser being. We also follow Pippa Montrose who is a full blooded mortal who ends up stumbling into the world of the fey...to her detriment.
I really expected to miss seeing the world through Celine’s and Bastien’s perspectives but I found the handful of chapters in their POVs to be extremely annoying. Bastien has turned into the Alpha A-Hole we’re used to in other Fantasy series and Celine is so blinded by the need for her new found mother’s affection that she can’t see past the nose on her face. It was truly infuriating to read from their perspectives. I found Arjun to be charming and flawed and adorable. I found Pippa to be less straight laced and annoying than she is in the first two novels. It was fun to see a sort of “fake dating” situation going on when she first stumbles into the world and that being the one and only thing they can think to save her from the fey. I also really loved exploring the world of the fey in this novel. In the second book, I was sort of shocked that we were moving away from the New Orleans setting and it was off putting. But this time around I found it much more enjoyable.
I will say that there are two twists in the last two pages of this one that I’m not sure I loved. One of which most people will probably enjoy if they’ve enjoyed Ahdieh’s other works. The other one I think I’ll only truly know how I feel about it after I’ve read book #4. As a whole, I don’t mind the kind of twist this one is, but it needs to be done well and I need to know the motivations for everyone involved. And I think that’s the most vague way I can explain that one. Overall, I don't love the series and I really haven’t enjoyed rereading the series this time around. Maybe I’ll continue with the next one since it is the final book. I probably won’t reread the first three before hand though.

I absolutely loved this book! In this 3rd book of the beautiful quartet we again learn even more about the world and the characters. Being able to read from so many of the characters perspectives was great and really helped to get a better sense of who they are and also their relationships with each other. I loved the continuation of the world building in this installment, but also how the plot develops so much in this book. What started as a love story in the first book has really evolved into an amazing fantasy series, with much more than just one love story. I cannot wait to see where this goes and how the next book wraps it all up. I love all the characters and think this will be a series I re read fairly frequently.

Been in love with the idea of Pippa and Arjun being together since book 1!!! I'm so excited for them and reading their story was so fulfilling. I know a lot of people extremely loved Celine and Bastien (don't worry, there's some chapters of those two in here) and I loved them too but for me, Pippa and Arjun being together was something that I looked forwarded to and hoped for. I absolutely loved them and I cannot wait for the final book of Renee's quartet series!

I loved watching Pippa come into her own and I LOVED Pippa and Arjun. I was shocked that Celine and Bastien were essentially side characters after being the main characters for half of the series. Nonetheless I think it was a good change of pace. I’m interested to see the direction that Celine’s character goes in the next book. There are so many unanswered questions and so many ways the story could go… I’m nervous but excited. As usual Renee Adhieh’s world building was beautiful and the ending was so intriguing (especially because of the new character we were introduced to). I’m excited for the next and final book in this series!
