Well the last book left us with wanting to learn more about the Hybrids and why they wanted Tara. This book does not disappoint as we learn why the Hybrids want Tara and what will happen.
Tara is home for the summer and of course it is not the ordinary summer every teenage girl would have. The hybrids come after Tara on multiple occasions. They finally give her the ultimatum to either turn herself and Cord in or they will kill all of her friends and family. Of course knowing how Tara is, she turns herself over and so does Cord.
Who is behind all of this you might ask? Well it is Olivia, Miles mother and she wants revenge from Miles death. While she tortures Cord, she makes Tara give the hybrids her blood so they also become hybrids. Little does Olivia know, but all the Hybrids have a new leader once Tara’s blood gets worked into their system. The hybrids now have the same connection as Tara has with George. She know has her own army of hybrids.
This was a great flip to the story. I really love that everything flows together so well throughout the books. I just keep falling more and more in love with this series every time I read another book. I would have liked to see more of the connection with Alex and Tara, but I guess that is difficult with Wes being right there. I am interested to see what happens with Alex now that he has been bitten by Tara and then injected with her blood. Is he now a hybrid as well? If so, will that be what makes him hate her since everything he stands for is against wolves? I am diving right into the next book to find out!

LIKE OH MY GOD!

Heather has done it again! I so Freaking love this series! After I finished the previous part, I was itching to read the next, but all the ARCs and other commitments did not let me do that! Ugh! I wished I was reading faster!

But back to the story...

This part of the book picks up after their discovery abut Hybrids. The mess, Miles has left behind him is slowly kicking everyone's butt. And what is worst? The hybrids want Tara, because Master has ordered them to capture her. Tara and everyone else is shocked that there is someone else behind the attacks. And none of them like it.

This book is so far the best one for me. Everyone matures so much that is amazing. Simply Amazing. We can see a new side of Tara. We have seen her as a Hunter, where she accepted and embraced this side of her, but in here, she has to acknowledge and make peace with her other side of the DNA. The Werewolf side. She is scared, terrified. But not because she is scared of her life. After one event in the forest, where she remembers nothing except the feeling of protectiveness toward Wes, she starts to refuse her Were side. She is scared that she will hurt someone. Someone she cares about. But behind the fear, we can see how wonderful and kind she is. She feels protective of the whole team. Even those who doesn't like her or the ones that she doesn't have any warm feelings for. She feels protective over the hybrids also, even though they want to kill her. She believes that it was not their fault and they should have a chance to chose a side. Like everyone else.

Wes *swoon*. In previous part I really loved Alex, but here? OMG. Wes is just perfect. He is still overprotective towards Tara, but we can see that he has acknowledge her strength and also started to trust her, trust that she is able to take care of herself.

On the other side we have Alex. Hot trainer, that even though he doesn't want to, he loves Tara. And wants to save her, but also he is 100% Hunter and he hates Werewolves. But one event can change everything for him and Tara. Their friendship is tested.

In this part we have love, friendship, danger, war, betrayal. Emotional rollercoaster.

And to make things more complicated, Tara's ex is becoming one of the hybrids and Tara has to decide how far she is willing to go to save him. To save all of them. Even if it can cost her sanity and her life.

Amazing book, and there is not enough stars to give it to it! A must read!

REVIEW:
Hildenbrand does it again; the third book in her Dirty Blood series is just as intense and addicting as the first two books. I was thrilled getting back into this series and following Tara and watching her become a stronger and more independent character. The ending is one heck of a shocker and will leave you questioning, but its what I call epically fantastic and the fans I feel will love it.

Blood Bond ends right where Cold Blood left off, Tara is still at the academy but about to head back home after all the incidents that occurred. She is anxious to help George and get back to Wes and her family. But she’s not safe, well really know one is since the Hybrids are still out there. But with Miles gone someone else is in charge and they want Tara, plus CHAS seems to want to get rid of more than just the Hybrids.

Tara has grown up a lot since Dirty Blood; she is definitely stronger after learning who and what she is. But she has also gained a leadership attitude and really has become independent and needing to do things on her own even if it means putting herself in danger. Her major agenda is George, after Miles injected him and he may turn into a “monster”. Tara wants to find someway to help him fight that side of him. Even though their relationship has changed they still have that strong friendship and I liked that about her. She doesn’t love him like Wes, but he’s like family. My major problem was with Tara’s mother, she irritated me with how she doesn’t really understand what kind of situation her daughter is in and that even though she’s young she has a lot on her shoulders. I wish her mother would back off a little.

Wes is always such an awesome guy; his supportiveness with Tara really won me over this time around, yes he’s protective but in the end lets her do it her way. I love their relationship and love for each other, its sweet and passionate, both really have matured and taken on so much responsibility. I also like that he is still a young guy too, even with all the adult responsibilities he gets jealous of Tara’s friendship with George and Alex of course.

Alex, okay I can’t get into much detail with him. But Alex fans he is definitely a key character in this book. He still has deep feelings for Tara and chooses to work with CHAS, which shocked me a bit, but some much happens with him that it left me speechless.

Cambria, she actually plays a bigger role is this book, which I was super excited to see. This girl is down right moody and cold to Tara but they get a lot of scene together that I enjoyed.

Overall Blood Bond doesn’t disappoint, usually as I read series they aren’t ever as god as the first but this was just as good. The character development and writing is fantastic and I just can’t get enough of this world that Hildenbrand has created. There are many villains this time around and it really puts in perspective the dangers that Tara and the gang are really facing and going to face in the future. Everything is starting to build up and the end… wow! Lets just say you’ll be holding your breath after you read the ending. It’s a kicker and I seriously can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is a young adult novel that you don’t want to miss out on. Fans of Andrea Cremer’s Nightshade series and Nancy Holders Crusade series will love the Dirty Blood series by Heather Hildenbrand.

Blood Bond Review on K-Books

"Doing something just because you feel like you have to or you're supposed to, that's not destiny. Destiny is doing something because you know you couldn't do anything else."

Woah! I am not really sure whether this review will actually make sense because I am still reeling from this book. It was just phenomenally good.

Left reeling from the discovery of the Hybrid werewolves Tara, Alex, Wes and The Cause must band together to try and sort out the mess that Miles left behind. But things are never as easy as they seem. Tara's wolf side is starting to emerge, will she fight it or embrace it? And will the team be able to save Tara from the Hybrids AND CHAS?

This book was just phenomenal and without a doubt the best one in the series so far. I am just completely and utterly in love with this series and it just gets better and better with each book. Heather is just a phenomenal author that throws so many twists and turns in there you feel like you are the one experiencing it all and cannot sit still as you are panicking about what is going to happen next.

Tara is awesome in this one. We definitely see a different side to her. We've seen her embrace her Hunter side of her but when her Wolf side starts coming out we see Tara going through a struggle. She is convinced that by embracing her Wolf she will be a monster so to see her going through this identity struggle we definitely see a different side of her. She's always been this incredibly strong heroine who takes everything on board and battles through it. In Blood Bond we see the more vulnerable side of Tara and I really loved that. She is in no way weak like some YA heroines but she is just human and we see everything taking effect on her.

Wes is just... *sigh* PERFECT! I know a lot of people turned to Team Alex in the previous book and Wes wasn't in the previous book very much. Well he is back and he is ready to fight for his girl and steal every female readers heart along the way. He is so much more swoon-worthy in this one and he is perfect and supportive. In the previous two books Wes was very much overbearingly protective in Tara and came across as if he didn't believe in her abilities. Well he is pretective but he's also supportive and it's clear he does truly believe in Tara he just wants her safe because of the amount he loves her. I am totally and utterly head-over-heels in love with him. So... if things don't work out with Tara and Wes just so Heather knows I'm fine with being written into the series and taking Wes off her hands ;)

Alex... Well I have mixed feelings about him in the book. Don't get me wrong I still love him and all but he is definitely no Wes and all the way through the book I just got the feeling he was keeping secrets from everyone and plotting something. I'm not sure about him and not sure I really trust him. I seriously hope I'm wrong but we'll see what happens in book 4. I will make up my mind about him then.

This book had so many twists and turns I'm pretty sure I have whiplash from this book. It's phenomenal and so many things happen that I did not see happening at all. I was completely shocked. Everytime I was sure I knew where the story was going I was left open-mouthed, jaw-on-the-floor shocked. I just couldn't believe what was happening and ended up just freaking out for the whole last 40%. Endings of books do shock me quite a lot but none actually literally leave me speechless. Blood Bond did! I just literally couldn't speak... okay that's a lie I could say three words... WHAT! JUST! HAPPENED! I was so shocked by the ending of this book I was just like OMG WHAT?!?! And now I am freaking out over what on earth will happen with these characters next... the wait for book 4 is going to be torturous.

For somebody who isn't a big fan of werewolf stories I am completely and utterly addicted and obsessed with this series. Its just phenomenal and would recommend this series to everyone. The first book is great and they just get better and better with every book. Blood Bond was phenomenal and I would give it a million stars if I could. I cannot wait to see what Heather does with this series next and I will definitely be waiting very impatiently anxiously awaiting the next installment. It was just freaking epic!! Phenomenal!!

"Being in love with you is more than I ever thought possible. You're my family, my soul mate, the one I was made for. I'm not going anywhere."

No! It didn't just end like that!

Ugh! I am so ANGRY at Alex right now! I want to start off by saying that I was actually starting to be swayed over to his side, but after that cliffhanger I'm so furious! GRRRR, poor Tara! As if her life couldn't get anymore complicated! But I'm really loving Wes all the more! He's FINALLY grown up to the man that I knew he could be! And I love that things are finally settled with George and Tara, could not be happier with that. However I am going to go crazy waiting for the next book! Heather, your writing is absolutely amazing! :)

Heather Hildenbrand continues to surprise me with the dirty blood series. This book took the storyline to a whole other level. So much was going on, I am still trying to wrap my head around all of it. This is a great series. Blood Bond is really a book of discovery and answers in this series. Tara learns so much about herself, and we learn even more about CHAS and the hunter/werewolf society. A great installment in one of my favorite series.

I am so pleasantly surprised with how Tara handled herself in this book. She was on information overload. Seriously, I have no idea what I would have done if I had half the bombs that she had dropped on her. But she has really grown and she is so strong. I really admire her strength. And I love that Alex recognizes that strength and bravery in her. Blood Bond was much more focused on werewolf and hybrids than it was on the Wes Tara Alex love triangle, and while I missed my Tara and Alex moments from the second book, I was happy that the romance is not the main focus. Because now I can still hold out hope for Alex. I just love him. I like Wes too, but there is something about Alex and Tara. I think they push each other to be better. But even though Tara likes Alex, she is all about Wes. I am really pushing hard for this one to turn out my way, but I think I might be on the losing end of this love triangle. To be continued, I suppose.

The action is nonstop in Blood Bond. Tara has to deal with the George issue left over from the last story, plus she meets a crazy recluse scientist that holds lots of answers for her. And the crazy hybrids created by Miles pop up with a new master. All of these things get dealt with in this one book. Like I said, NON-STOP ACTION! I loved every second of it. I was on the edge of my seat- I couldn't read the pages fast enough. The ending killed me though. I need to read the next book to get to the bottom of it. I have a feeling there is much more than meets the eye with what happened. This is a must read series for anyone that likes paranormal books.
