Superrrr quick read. The 3 different narratives guided the story and intertwined across generations to push the story along and keep the mystery developing. I thought the book was overall an engaging read that kept me interested but had some troubles with the ending and overall story. The last twist with Henry and his intentions didn’t really do it for me, was the whole purpose of the story about Henry and his fixation on Phin? If so ok but just not dynamic in regards to the story. Also why were Libby and Miller cool with Henry drugging them? That is quite obviously not normal uncle behavior. Another qualm with the book was the agency and abilities given to twelve year olds. Maybe I think lower of the abilities of children than the reality but Marco giving overly emotionally intelligent responses to Lucy and the kids in the Chelsea house all being well adapted enough to converse and plot without any schooling past elementary school idk. These are getting to be a little nit picky but didn’t buy all the aspects of this book sometimes. That being said I read it in 3 days so. Would recommend to a mystery aficionado but not with a ton of gusto

I went into this book knowing nothing. And I was the most confused I have ever been for a good portion of it, even if I read the synopsis I’m sure I still would have been very confused . It was intriguing at every turn of the page.

In almost every question I answers with “It’s complicated” because that’s how i would refer to the whole book and that is what i liked about it. What I found more intriguing is how complex Henry’s character is and how I couldn’t guess that something was wrong with him until the last chapters , he’s not the classical crazy man of a thriller , at some point I was even able to justify him. The only thing is that that his obsession with Phin made me really uncomfortable, I found it cute at first cause , u know, He was a kid with his first lil crush, but then at the end… it was so wired and it disturbed me. When I found out the seconde book is mainly about this topic I just knew that I would not enjoy it. But I think it made a difference in the first book , it was a grate component of the story and I like how it was handled , what I said it’s a personal perspective , I would have given 5 stars if i wasn’t so sensitive about it.

Es un libro de lectura ágil, sencillo y muy bien desarrollado de principio a fin, no quieres soltarlo sobre todo porque consigue jugar con los capítulos desde diferentes puntos de vista. Siempre te quedas en los que te gustan por lo que al final no sueltas el libro solo por saber como continua.
Personajes creíbles en una historia de este estilo y realmente más allá de que no tenga una historia que te mantenga en vilo no tiene un pero.
Ha conseguido que tenga interés por el resto de la saga y por la autora.
