The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus
Lee Strobel
This book sets the stage for those who are interested in pursuing the evidence for Christ and Christianity. I will not say it covers all the basis of skepticism. That would be impossible. Also, I will say my opinion is biased being a Christian and seeing what Jesus does in my own life every day. I desire to believe what Lee is telling me; therefore, I will most likely not bring up all the reasonable objections which could be found when reading this book. Even with my bias, I could spot some holes which makes me want to delve deeper and find more evidence of Christ, his death, and resurrection. Not because I don't believe but because my belief leads me to desire and seek after the truth. So often believing in Christ puts you under criticism and I want the ability to defend my faith. This was a good beginning of a search which will doubtless last a lifetime.
If you are a Christian you will doubtless like this book and enjoy hearing from those who have studied and deal with arguments on a daily basis. Those who have degrees which many consider of great importance to present ideas in a well-informed manner. You will enjoy hearing the evidence and perhaps for the first time understanding there is actual evidence for the Christian belief. It will be an experience you will not regret. On the other hand, if you are not a Christian your experience will be quite different. You may be open to hearing the evidence which is presented or you may not. You could completely disregard any evidence presented or desire to learn more about what is presented. Either way, it is an interesting read which allows you to understand the debate further and knowledge of this topic.
I believe that unless a person is ready and willing to see Jesus he or she can come up with objections to any evidence presented. Accordingly, your state of mind and being will influence how you interpret this book. This, in my opinion, is why we see the huge variance in how people rate this book. It is based on what they wish to believe rather than the actual evidence presented. From my point of view as stated before it was an interesting read which will lead me down the path to discovering more evidence for Christ.

Journalist looks at evidence for Christ and Christianity, rewalking his personal search when he was an atheist, again with experts who make a compelling case for the historical accuracy of biblical accounts of Jesus.

This was a gift, and I am glad I got it. It isn't something I would have looked for. This book holds some very interesting information. The Author was an atheist and a reporter. His wife became a Christian and he investigated the religion. No matter your beliefs, this book has a great message and probably some facts you did not know.
This book raised some good arguments. I like that it included questions, recommended readings, and even the direct, simplified answers to the questions. I feel like people who are skeptical are still going to be skeptical unless the holy spirit is at work in them.
