Nothing groundbreaking, but a captivating easy read. One of the major flaws for me is Coben’s desire for dichotomy between the good and the bad, especially for the main characters. He seemed to feel the need to justify the bad actions by good people with “greater good” reasons.

But Coben’s 2009 thriller displays just how fast cultural shifts are happening in American society. His use of crackhead, street slang, and other dated terms already seem out of place and less than appropriate.
Not profound. Every female character is principle defined by their relationship to men, even the lesbian couple.

This is definitely a page-turner! I initially picked it up as an audiobook to read on the side but I couldn't stop thinking about it and needed to know what was going to happen so I grabbed the print brook from the library too. It did get really convoluted towards the end though. Overall, a fun crime thriller with enjoyable characters and an interesting premise. I'll definitely be picking up more by this author.

This was a really good book!!! You can kind of figure it out but it also keeps you guessing and keeps you interested!
