Oooh talk about a woman scorned! Mary was steadfast in her hatred of Leo for aaaaages. And when you take in her POV, I totally got it. I’d probably have been extra petty if it had been me.

Mary and Leo fell in love when they were 15. Playing Halo online. She always knew who he was, but had refused to reveal her own identity because she was insecure. Thought he would take one look at her and reject her. So when her biggest fears came true, she was destroyed.

But when we learn what really happened from Leo’s POV, man it completely deflated all Mary’s hatred of him. And again, I get it! He was known to be a player and the jokester and a user…but really he wasn’t truly any of those things. He was actually just a big softie who had never forgotten his online first love.

I love his determination to make Mary see how amazing she was, how beautiful, and sexy, and talented. Because although she had grown to love herself and her curves, deep down she was still that insecure 15 year old that didn’t feel good enough.

I think this is the last in the series so we get a little look at where the whole gang were heading with their lives in the epilogue, which was a nice touch.

I am a little surprised that Kyle isn’t getting his own book though! I feel like that redemption arc would be huge because he was already way less douchey in this book!

I honestly enjoyed this book way more the second time around. This book almost felt a bit sweeter and softer than the other books in the series. I loved the foundation of friendship in Leo and Mary’s relationship. I liked seeing them become closer and how they actually talked about the past and tried to work through it. I liked how different Mary was from the other FMCs in the series and I loved the plus-size representation. Overall, this book was great and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I loved the history between Leo and Mary and the time dedicated to really explaining their backstory so you could understand Mary's feelings towards Leo in the present day. So many feelings and emotions, and all the angst. I loved the juxtaposition of the cockiness of Leo and the vulnerabilities he hides too. Mary is a badass and while a little stubborn, I love that she didn't take shit from anyone. The third act conflict was warranted and well resolved. This was previously the final book in the series, but not anymore!! Keep reading for Kyle's story in False Start!

THIS WAS MY FAVORITE IN THE WHOLE SERIES! I loved it. I felt like there was so much passion between Leo and Mary. It's just so good.

Now what I have read them all, I've ranked them going from favorite (and would read again) to eh, it was good, but I don't think I'd read again.

FMC’S NAME IS MARY. THUS HAIL MARY. As a Christian this fact is too freaking funny. Other than that Leo is a fine ace of a man for treating Mary right. Extra points for body positivity message in this story.
