Intriguing premise, but ultimately felt a bit disjointed to me. YMMV about the romance, it’s kind of strange having
brother and sister love interests
but not fully leaning into the potential of it causing conflict or the taboo nature of it. Probably would have liked it better if the depiction overall was a bit darker.

Everything about this book was eerie and enjoyable. It’s a slow story and with very complicated characters. For some reason I pictured Marcus as Lucius Malfoy and it definitely made it funnier everytime this character made an appearance. The relationships portrayed were not conventional and that was a detail about this book that you don’t find it very often and still made a confusing sense. I’d describe it as a mix of a light dark but soft academia, fantasy and YA.

Cover and title baited so hard. I went into this BLIND based on the cover and the title alone. I DNF'd at 12%, before my usual mark, because I had started skimming. I don't skim. Ever.

I was so BORED. I didn't CARE. I didn't FEEL anything about Lark, her brothers, her nemesis, or her old friend.

I was so looking forward to this. And I really, really, really did not want to rate it a star. But here we are. I'm crying in my disappointment.

I don't really enjoy the why choose trope but having romantic relationships with siblings is a bit odd. I wish there'd been only one love interest despite enjoying both characters.

Tenderly, I Am Devoured is a gothic, cottage core romantic fantasy with some horror elements.

At first, I thought this was just going to be a spin on the Hades and Persephone story, but man was I wrong. I don't want to spoil anything, but this was a really quick read, so I'd say just go for it if you like eerie atmospheres, intriguing plots, and interesting characters. Also, there's a very strange romance between some of the characters, that was not very relatable, but definitely a fun one.

this was my most anticipated read for july, but sadly i’m not the target reader of this book. it’s not a bad book, it’s not just for me. i really love the aesthetics though!

as much as i wanted to like the story, i just can’t. the pacing is so slow, and the chapters before chapter 8 felt repetitive for i don’t know what reason. what also made it boring for me was that there’s more narration than conversation.

and it really doesn’t sit right with me that lark has no friends aside from alastair, camille, and damson and she already kissed two of them. like… can’t she have platonic friendship/s? 🥹 well, i don’t know, because i can’t and don’t want to push through just to find out.
